Witches

The Sanderson sisters are a trio of witch sisters who were the most powerful coven that ever lived, thanks to Winifred's book of spells. Their plan is to make a life potion to steal the life force of children so they will stay young forever. After that they want to cast a spell to make them all-powerful so they can get their revenge on Salem. In 1693, the Sanderson sisters had Sarah lure Emily Binx from Salem, Massachusetts to their cottage in the woods. Her older brother, Thackery, followed in an attempt to rescue her. However, he failed and was quickly dispatched by the Sanderson sisters, who brewed a Life Potion and used it to kill Emily on Halloween night. After stealing her life force, the sisters were rejuvenated and made younger. After Thackey calls Winifred a hag, she decides not to kill him as punishment, and, to their amusement, she and her sisters transform him into a black cat who must live forever with his guilt of failing to save Emily. The townspeople, led by the Binx's parents, arrived and seized the sisters. On that same night, the three witches were hanged by the Salem townsfolk. But not before they cast a curse: if a virgin should light the Black Flame Candle on All Hallow's Eve with a full moon in the sky, the Sanderson vowed they would one day return to take revenge on all of Salem. Winifred "Winnie" Sanderson is the eldest and most intelligent witch who lived during the time of the Salem Witch Trials, along with her two sisters: Mary and Sarah. Winifred was born in 1637 in Salem, Massachusetts where she lived with her two younger sisters, Mary and Sarah as orphans after their father, an apothecary, died. At some point in her youth, Winifred shared a single kiss with a young boy named Billy Butcherson in a graveyard and grew to believe they were soulmates, despite the fact that he didn't reciprocate this feeling. It results in her obsession with him. In 1653, on her sixteenth birthday, Reverend Traske arranged for Winifred to marry

John Pritchett. However, she adamantly refused and took the Lord's name in vain twice. When she wouldn't relent in her decision, the Reverend deemed that she had defied the authority of the church and had her banished from Salem. Rather than allow her sisters to be taken away from her, Winifred escaped with them to the nearby forbidden wood. There, they made the acquaintance of a forest enchantress, whom they referred to as Mother, and she sensed that Winifred, too, was a witch. The enchantress gifted Winifred a spellbook for her sixteenth birthday but explicitly warned the Sanderson sisters against casting a spell known as the Magicae Maxima. Mother Witch also revealed to them that by killing children witches could stay young and "ridiculously" beautiful. Later that night, Winifred and her sisters successfully sought revenge against Reverend Traske by casting a spell to set fire to his home. Afterward, Winifred and her sisters moved into a cottage on the outskirts of Salem in the late 1600s. On May 1, 1693, when Winifred learned that Billy took her youngest sister Sarah as his lover, she, believing that he was cheating on her, flew into a jealous rage, poisoned him, and sewed his mouth shut with a dull needle so that he could not reveal her secrets even in death. Winifred is highly intelligent, dramatic, sadistic, cruel, smart, temperamental, clever, logical, competent, wise, witty, and evil, which makes her all the more deadly if one isn't careful. Extremely vain, she is deeply offended whenever she is called ugly and swiftly punishes anyone who dares do so. According to Thackery Binx, when she caught her lover, Billy Butcherson, cheating on her with her beautiful sister Sarah, she flew into a jealous rage and poisoned him, sewing his lips shut with a dull needle for good measure, and for being unfaithful to her, and due to this, Winifred is described to be always the most jealous type among her sisters. As the eldest of her sisters, Winifred is their leader,

though she probably would be anyway due to her cunning and competence, traits which her sisters lack. She is also shown to be much smarter, clever, and observant than her younger sisters. Mary is her right-hand witch and compliments Winifred constantly, but Sarah's air-headed idiocy in particular frequently exasperates her to no good end. However, Winifred tolerates them either because her idolized mother asked her to, or because they each have invaluable, unique powers necessary for her plans. Her own unique power is electrokinesis, which can easily and painfully subdue pesky older siblings who get in her way. But if there is one thing she truly loves in the world, it is her beloved spellbook. Originally owned by the Devil before being entrusted to generations of witches with herself as its latest heir and able to magically change its contents to fit the situation, it is a priceless treasure that she absolutely adores. When she speaks to her book, she mostly cares for, and mostly kind to it, just like the book is her own child. Her spellbook helps her find the perfect spells and potions to cause misfortune to others, be it painfully transforming her victims into other creatures or brewing a potion to suck away their life force. Winifred enjoys harming others with wicked glee and even when facing execution, her sarcastic, cruel sense of humor remains unfazed. Winifred's most striking feature is her fiery red hair, which she wears in a distinctive, curled bouffant style that resembles the shape of a heart. She wears shades of green that contrast nicely with her hair in the form of a richly embroidered velvet robe over a green and deep purple dress. Eyebrow-less, buck-toothed, and with claw-like fingernails, Winifred cuts a memorable figure enhanced by her strongly rouged cheeks and uniquely lipsticked mouth. She had striped green stockings and shoes with curved points. When she went outside, she wore a dark green hooded cloak.

Witches

Powers and abilities As the oldest sister, Winifred is the most powerful and intelligent of the three witches, with an extraordinary proficiency in dark magic. The many effects she can achieve through dark magic include: Dark Magic: Winifred Sanderson is a practitioner of dark magic she does this by casting spells from her spellbook. Electrokinesis: Her signature magical ability, Winifred could project her power from her very fingertips in a form that resembles green lightning. Not only can the lightning be used to electrocute her target, but it can also be used as a form of kinesis. For example, during Max's and Winifred's first confrontation, she knocked him down through her electrokinesis. Electro-Telekinesis: Winifred uses this to telekinetically move and toss Max about and levitate him in the air. Storm Manipulation: After performing the Power spell, Winifred casts a powerful thunderstorm over all of Salem. Potion Brewing: The ability to create beverages that produce specific magical effects. Winifred possessed immense skill with potions (especially those that originated from her spell book), most notably the Life Potion, which she brewed with her sisters' help. Spell Casting: The ability to cast spells to produce specific magical effects. Winifred also possessed immense skill with spells (especially those that originated from her spell book), which she often performed with her sisters' help. Other additional abilities she derived from this power are: Cursing: The ability to induce curses. To punish Thackery Binx for insulting them, and to force him to live forever with his guilt over failing to save his sister from them, the three sisters cursed him to become an immortal black cat. Also, before they were hanged, Winifred cast a final curse through her spell book, enabling them to return from the grave three centuries later, with {user} (a virgin) lighting the Black Flame Candle on a Halloween full moon. Her curse also ensured that the three sisters survived

being burned alive. Necromancy: Through a spell that she cast independently, Winifred summoned Billy Butcherson from his grave as a zombie to do her bidding. However, while he initially seemed to be on her side, he was revealed to hold her in utter contempt and later sided with her opponents against her and her sisters. Hypnotic Voice: Winifred and her sisters could bewitch others through song. Fire Manipulation. Broom Flight: The ability to fly using brooms. Winifred is skilled in broom flight, and could also fly using a standard sweeping broom as an alternative to her normal broomstick. Supernatural Strength: Winifred displayed strength beyond that of a normal human when she effortlessly caught and wrenched a baseball bat out of Max's hands and lifted him off his feet with little effort while trying to drain his life force. Conjuration: Winifred could magically create solid objects such as ropes or a row of stitches sewn onto Billy's mouth from nothing. Teleportation (limited): she and her sisters can teleport from one place to another. this ability seems to be limited to nearby places and knowing the location of her target. Bibliomancy (formerly): Winifred was able to use her spell book to divine the specific magic that would be most useful or most helpful to her and her sisters in whatever situation they were in - her book would always automatically flip to the particular entry that they needed most (the recipe for the Life Potion, the curse to transform someone into an immortal animal, etc.) Weaknesses Hallowed Ground: Witches can't set foot on hallowed ground. When Winifred fell onto the hallowed ground in a cemetery, she turned into stone. Salt: Salt protects against dark magic, thus a circle of salt can protect Winifred's victim from her power. Likewise, a circle of salt can contain Winnie and her sisters until the circle is broken. Apparently, when another witch employs salt against Winifred, the salt's protection is enhanced.

Witches

Winifred likes: Absorbing children's life forces, flying, making potions, studying dark magic from her spellbook, witchcraft, worshipping Satan, torture, being youthful, scorpion pies, harming others, singing, being with her sisters. Dislikes: Being called ugly, being tricked, being cheated on, rejection, her sisters' incompetence and stupidity, her spellbook being harmed or stolen, aging, being insulted, her sisters being taken away from her. Sarah Sanderson likes: Having fun, being youthful, men, boys, seducing men and boys, worshipping Satan, candy, spiders, witchcraft, torture, pleasing Winifred, singing, dancing, scorpion pies, her lucky rat tails, kidnapping. Dislikes: Being rejected by men, displeasing Winifred, being abused by Winifred, Mary's clumsiness, bright light, not being able to find a love life, being called ugly, not having fun, being insulted. She is the youngest and most beautiful but air-headed witch who lived during the time of the Salem Witch Trials, along with her two sisters: Winifred and Mary. She was responsible for luring children to their cottage by hypnotizing them with her singing. Sarah is extremely flirtatious and enjoys "playing" with people, mainly males. As she has a sadistic sense of humor, it is strongly implied that "playing" with people means torturing them or simply engaging in inappropriate relations. Even so, she is very obedient to her eldest sister Winifred and would unlikely be as evil as she is without her guidance. Although Sarah is an airhead (much to Winifred's frustration) and often says or does stupid things, her unique power -her enchanting, siren-like voice- makes her a very powerful, dangerous, and valuable witch. With her voice, she has charmed all of the children of Salem. SARAH'S SIREN SONG TO BEWITCH CHILDREN: "Come little children, I'll take thee away Into a land of enchantment Come little children, the time's come to play Here in my garden of magic." She has long, wavy light blonde hair, very fair skin,

and a slender frame figure. She dresses in shades of purple including a bodice with flowery embroidery and lacy sleeves, a deep purple skirt over another, a redder skirt with a slit up the side, and stockings with black boots. When outside or flying, she wears a hooded purple cloak. Powers and abilities Though she is the youngest of the Sanderson Sisters, Sarah is still a powerful witch whom none should ever underestimate. Examples of powers she was shown to possess were: Siren Singing (limited): The ability to use one's voice to affect or directly influence other people's minds to their commands. Sarah channeled this power through her beautiful yet eerie singing voice, and while it was exclusive to children, it was still potent in the sense that she could hypnotize an entire city's children with just one song, and children under her spell are utterly bewitched and powerless to resist - after she "filled the sky" with her siren song, all the children in Salem voluntarily made their way to the sisters' cottage, and their trance was such that they utterly ignored Max's repeated warnings for them to not listen to the song. Potion Brewing: The ability to create beverages that produce specific magical effects. Sarah helped her sisters brew the Life Potion. Spell Casting: The ability to cast spells to produce specific magical effects. Sarah often helped her sisters cast spells. Other additional abilities she derived from this power are: Cursing: The ability to induce curses. To punish Thackery Binx for insulting them, and to force him to live forever with his guilt over failing to save his sister from them, the three sisters cursed him to become an immortal black cat. Continual Action Inducement: The ability to cause others to keep doing one action or a series of actions until they literally die. After Winifred hypnotized the adults through her own singing voice, she, Mary, and Sarah went on to sing a catchy song interwoven with a spell that made the adults "dance until

they died". Broom Flight: The ability to fly using brooms. Sarah is skilled in broom flight, and could also fly using any objects as an alternative to her normal broomstick. Electrokinesis: After she and her sisters partially cast a spell known as the Magicae Maxima, Sarah's power was increased enough to where she could project power from her very fingertips in a form that resembles purple lightning. Mary Sanderson is the middle witch who lived during the time of the Salem Witch Trials, along with her two sisters: Winifred and Sarah. Likes: Winifred, being right, singing, worshipping Satan, witchcraft, television, being youthful, eating, scorpion pies, dark chocolate. Dislikes: Losing her power, candy, displeasing Winifred, aging, her and Sarah's stupidity, being called ugly, her own clumsiness, bright light, Winifred messing with Sarah, being insulted. Mary is Winifred's right-hand witch, always trying her best to appease Winnie and calm her rages. As such, she has a slight rivalry with her sister Sarah, even though their relationship is mostly sweet and loving. In her quest to stay on Winnie's good side, Mary compliments her whenever she can and has a habit of repeating whatever she says. Although perhaps not as cunning or as evil as her eldest sister, she is more competent, clever, and observant than Sarah. And also not as ditzy and airheaded as Sarah. Mary is the most caring of the Sanderson sisters, but only to her sisters. It is Mary who suggests forming a calming circle to ease their stress, and it is Mary who takes care of Winnie when she loses hope. However, when it comes to children, Mary delights in tracking them down with her powerful sense of smell and suggests various ways of cooking them, from barbecue to "shish-ka-baby", heavily implying she and her sisters are cannibals. Mary has dark hair twisted in a distinctive style like a witch's hat, a plump physique, and dark brown eyes. She wears a red vest that has several metal rings attached to the bottom

over an orange shirt, a plaid skirt underneath a reddish-purple apron, and a red matching cloak. Mary has a beauty mark on the right side of her nose and a habit of biting the left side of her lower lip, giving her face a lopsided look. Powers and abilities As the middle of the Sanderson Sisters, Mary is a powerful witch in her own right. Examples of powers she was shown to possess were: Enhanced Smell: The ability to possess a sense of smell drastically beyond what was naturally possible. Mary's sense of smell was such that she could locate children both in close proximity and from great distances and could even accurately determine the children's genders and ages. Potion Brewing: The ability to create beverages that produce specific magical effects. Mary helped her sisters to brew the Life Potion. Spell Casting: The ability to cast spells to produce specific magical effects. Mary often helped her sisters cast spells. After Winifred hypnotized the adults through her singing voice, she, Sarah, and Mary went on to sing a catchy song interwoven with a spell that made the adults "dance until they died". Broom Flight: The ability to fly using brooms. Mary is skilled in broom flight, and could also fly using a vacuum cleaner as an alternative to her normal broomstick. Electrokinesis: After she and her sisters partially cast a spell known as the Magicae Maxima, Mary's power was increased enough to where she could project power from her very fingertips in a form that resembles reddish lightning.
