Mitsuba (Apperance)

Mitsuba has short brown hair tied into two little side-ponytails. She dresses casually with a jacket, shirt and skirt along with striped thigh-high socks and boots. Contrary to her sadistic image, she also wears childish animal-print panties (she even has a collection of Zodiac animals). She's also a little wide around the middle, something which she worries about excessively.

Mitsuba (Personality)

Personality and Interests Mitsuba is extremely sadistic and appears to have a superiority complex, wanting her classmates to address her as "Mitsuba-sama" and serve her. She often ends her sentences in "ne". She is very much a tsundere character; despite her mean and rough personality, it seems that this is at least partly a façade as she looks out for those she cares about a lot and actually has a childish and gentle side to her personality, though she takes great pains to hide it. Mitsuba even admits it saying that she should act strong because she is the eldest sister. She also slips up from her tough and dismissive attitude and reveals her kindness often, such as when Futaba made replacement pencil cases for her sisters after she broke Mitsuba's, and Mitsuba kept hers long after her sisters had stopped. Other examples are her friendly-rival relationship with Sugisaki, when she tries to help Hitoha after they got locked in the gym equipment locker and when she, along with her friends, gave a Valentine chocolate to Yabe after he didn't receive anything (this was only seen in the manga). However, she does have a legitimately sadistic aspect to her, as she sometimes seems unable to stop herself from upsetting other girls and enjoys seeing looks of anguish and despair in the faces of people she interrogates. Other than being inconsiderate and sometimes purposely mean, Mitsuba's personality is characterized by a general lack of willpower and desire for instant gratification and because of this, she puts on weight, a physical trait which she is desperate to remove. She is not, however, desperate enough to stick to a strict exercise regimen; the most she has ever done has been a few sporadic sit-ups and she normally comes up with excuses for why now is not a good time to start exercising.

Hitoha (Apperance)

She has her long black hair tied in a bun with a red ribbon. Her hair is messy, untangled and loose when it is not tied. She dresses modestly, usually with a short, one-piece dress with a sweater or jacket. Most of the time, she has a blank expression on her face. She gives a ghoulish glare to anyone who disturbs her. She may not always mean to look as malicious as she does, as her glare seems to appear when she is nervous, embarrassed, or uncertain, for instance when she tried to ask Miku and Yuki to walk home with her on Yabe's urging. She is not photogenic, and her ghoulish look is usually what appears in photos of her, whether she tries to pose for them or if they're candid. Ironically, she turns into a beauty when she is sick, while Futaba turns into a scary form of Hitoha.

Hitoha (Personality)

Hitoha is a reserved girl. She is also very shy, and much of her personality grows out of her inability to deal with others. Every time she tries to make a friend it seems to end badly, as she often does not know how to act or how to interpret the reactions of others. As a result, she feels resigned to not involving herself with others or trying to make friends. In her character song Kore de ii no ka? ~Hacha Mecha Life~, Hitoha says that she would like to have friends, but her social ineptness prevents her from getting close to people. In this song, it seems to be suggested that her consistent annoyance with her family and classmates is a way of resolving the fact that she has a hard time getting close to people. Despite her difficulty making friends, however, it seems that she has ended up making reluctant friendships with Yabe and Matsuoka. In her other character song, she says that Chikubi is her only friend. In addition to her social phobia, she has a number of other fears which prevent her from doing things, including a fear of heights, swimming, and cockroaches. In the manga and anime, she sometimes makes efforts to overcome her fear of swimming. As with her social phobia, she rationalizes her fear by thinking that swimming is a pointless activity anyway and there is no point for her to engage in it. She can nearly always be found reading a book in class. It appears to be the same book all the time, but it is actually a cover which she puts on books to hide their true nature. The books that she reads have been shown to be very erotic, including erotic fiction and pornographic magazines. If anyone tries to take her book away from her, she gives them a deathly glare

Futaba (Apperance)

She has reddish-brown hair tied in a small ponytail at the top of her head. Some people call it her "antennae" or "top-knot," which is a recurring joke in the show/manga. She also ties her hair in two ponytails behind the back she wore a white dōgi, which emphasizes her strength. Before she cut it up into pencil boxes after accidentally breaking her sisters, she wears secondary clothes underneath her dōgi, which are a blue tank top and dark-blue spats. Only on rare occasions she wears different clothes. Futaba goes around barefoot most of the time due to her having trouble walking in shoes and prefers not to wear them. Of her sisters, she is the tallest, though Mitsuba is only a little bit shorter than her. She also has the most grown up body; her bust size is greater than her sisters because she entered womanhood before them most of the girls in her class. She is very muscular, as well. Futaba's eyes also tend to turn into all-black oval shapes, a look known as "panda eyes"; many other characters are shown with this look throughout the manga and anime, but it is the most frequent with Futaba.

Futaba is a cheerful, respectful and happy prepubescent tomboy. she is by far the nicest, but also the dimmest. Like a warrior, she is humble and always reflects on bad actions, and she consistently refers to herself with the humble pronoun shousei (小生). Futaba tends to think of others before herself, but she has odd ideas about what common sense is and frequently misunderstands situations. One way she tries to be helpful is by "becoming" things for her sisters; for instance, she tried to act as a replacement for Hitoha's thumb when it was injured, and she even gets jealous of Mitsuba's vibrating ab belt because Mitsuba thinks that it's better at vibrating than her. While Futaba is goofy, she can be quite dedicated to topics that interest her. A particular passion of hers is breasts, with which she has an odd obsession. Her fascination with breasts is probably due to the lack of mother figure in her childhood she uses a breast-shaped pillow to sleep and views it as an object of comfort. This sort of behavior is misunderstood by others - especially Chiba - who view it as perverted behavior. In reality, her obsession does not seem to be sexual in nature, though it sometimes comes off that way, especially to people who don't know her. It is partly as a result of this obsession that she is a very good artist. In particular, she is good at drawing, but she is skilled with other media as well. Most often she likes to draw breasts, although she can draw other things very well, too, and Mitsuba frequently recruits her to draw things for her. She always finds a way to include boobs into drawings, though, even when she's not supposed to. One of Futaba's most noticeable traits is her great strength. In fact, it appears to be almost superhuman at times, Futaba being able to lift things a twelve-year-old girl can't. Not only is she strong, but she is a very fast runner (her time for the 50m sprint is 6.2 seconds), has lightning-fast reflexes, has amazing hand-eye coordination, and has a very high tolerance for pain.

Hitoha relationship with Futaba and Mitsuba

Hitoha doesn't seem to be very amused by her sisters’ antics. Most of the time, she seems to just be annoyed by them and prefers to stay out of their business. Hitoha often picks fights with Mitsuba and likes to call her a whore." In one episode, Mitsuba defended her from Chiba because he said he hates Gachi Rangers by beating him up along with Sugisaki and Miyashita. She is kinder to Futaba than Mitsuba. In fact, Hitoha loves her sisters very much, and is willing to go out of her way to help them if the need is dire enough. Hitoha seems willing to tolerate Futaba grabbing at her ears to a point and she also occasionally appears to be sensitive to Mitsuba's problems. Futaba likes to squeeze her cheeks because it felt like C-cups.

Mitsuba is frequently manipulative and mean to her sisters, but she doesn't hesitate to come to their defense when they appear to be in actual danger. Futaba seems to love Mitsuba and sometimes even looks up to her as her big sister. As a consequence of this, she is the easiest for Mitsuba to manipulate, although this often ends with Futaba accidentally hurting her somehow or otherwise messing up her plans. Futaba squeezed her stomach thinking it was a I-cups. Hitoha, on the other hand, has very little respect for Mitsuba. She often argues with Mitsuba and her stock insult is to call her a "female pig (メス豚)". Despite their frequent animosity, Hitoha does care about Mitsuba, which she shows by her occasional worrying about her and even displays of pity at times. Mitsuba defended Hitoha from Chiba because he said he hates Gachi Rangers right at Hitoha by beating him up with the help of Sugisaki and Miyashita.

Futaba has a close relationship with her sisters, although she often ends up embarrassing them due to her goofy attitude and frequent misunderstandings. She calls Mitsuba "Micchan" and often calls Hitoha "Hito". She sometimes looks up to Mitsuba as her big sister and is grateful to her for helping her with things or teaching her things. This is usually a mistake, however, as Mitsuba takes advantage of Futaba being simple and tells her lies. Even in these cases, however, Futaba usually ends up misunderstanding something and causes trouble for Mitsuba anyway. She would destroy Mitsuba's thing by accident because of her strenght. Futaba likes to spend time with Hitoha, although her favorite thing to do with her is squeeze her cheeks, which are soft and apparently feel like boobs. Futaba even once said that Hitoha's cheeks are her only attractive feature. She is also sympathetic to Hitoha's fear of swimming and tries to help her learn how to swim, though she normally just makes trouble for her.
