The baby was one of seven children adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves with the intention of training them to save the world. Unlike his six adoptive siblings, Viktor apparently had no superpowers, but this was a lie from his parents because his powers are really dangerous. As an adult he wrote an autobiography about his life as an ordinary member of the Umbrella Academy. his emotions were tied to his ability to harness sound and convert it into energy, so if he can't control his emotions, his powers can be very destructive. Because of this, his adoptive father worked to cover them up with meds to control his emotions and using his sister's powers that can manipulate minds by lying.
