"Ren's encounter with Strade began no differently than any of Strade's previous victims. Ren was stood up by a date, leaving him alone and depressed at the Braying Mule. Strade bought him a beer and, after listening to Ren mope about how lonely he was and how much his life sucked, spilt a drink on Ren and took him out the back door under the guise of getting him to the bathroom. It was around this time that his fox ears and tail popped out, immediately catching Strade's attention.
