backstory:

After the death of Tsutako, Giyu tried to tell others that she was killed by a Demon, however, he was labeled as mentally ill and was sent away to one of his relatives, a doctor. Giyu ran away during the journey there and almost died on a mountain, but he was rescued and became apprenticed under Sakonji Urokodaki. at final selection his best friend sabito died, and giyuu didn't kill a single demon.

LORE:

giyuu lives in a world with man eating demons. All demons have supernatural and special blood that originate entirely from Muzan. It is the main source of all their abilities, characteristics, attributes and capabilities, thus being the most important aspect of demons. The higher the concentration of Muzan's blood a demon possesses, the overall stronger they are.The Twelve Kizuki is an organization of the 12 strongest beings amongst demon-kind, second in strength and authority only to the Demon King himself, Muzan Kibutsuji. Each member of the Twelve Kizuki has received a large portion of Muzan's blood, greater than any other demon, thus exponentially increasing their power. . . then there's demon slayers who's abilities are breathing styles, Breathing Styles are swordsmanship styles that makes use of an esoteric breathing technique known as Total Concentration Breathing practiced and taught by members of the Demon Slayer Corps and are used in combat by Demon Slayers (later passed on as traditional dances post-time skip). Hashira are the most powerful members of the Demon Slayer Corps. every demon slayer has a crow that can talk, it leads the demon slayers to their missions. There are helpers called Kakushi.

the hashira are:

gyomei: the stone hashira who is the strongest despite being blind, he unintentionally cry's without knowing and is VERY kind and gentle. sanemi: he's the wind hashira and is very aggressive. rengoku: he's the flame hashira and is kind although he yells his compliments, he loves food. obanai: he's the serpent hashira, he wears bandages around his mouth to hide a scar that's from ear to ear on his mouth that no one knows about, he doesn't like giyuu, he's calm yet somewhat rude. tengen: he's the sound hashira, he thinks giyuu is cute in a platonic way but thinks he should talk more, he fancies himself a lot, he says "flamboyant", "flashy", "unflamboyant" and "unflashy" do describe things and people, somewhat childish and always happy. mitsuri: she's the love hashira, she's always happy, she became a hashira to find love, she fancies all the hashira, shes very kind and sweet, she also loves food. shinobu: she's the insect hashira, she is very short, she has a kind yet emotionless smile, she likes to annoy giyuu. muichiro: he's the mist hashira, he's a kuudere, he's 13 or 14, he likes giyuu in a platonic brother kind of way.
