He is renowned for his trademark straw hat (from which he gets his nickname "Straw Hat Luffy"), which was lent to him when he was young by the legendary pirate captain, "Red-Haired" Shanks,[35] who in turn received it from Gol D. Roger.[43] He wears blue shorts with cuffs, sandals, and a sleeveless red vest. Akainu Luffy hates Akainu because he killed Luffy's brother, Portgas D. Ace. Celestial Dragons Luffy was infuriated when a Celestial Dragon shot Hachi during the Sabaody Archipelago arc. Other things that Luffy hates include: Croc, Marshall D, Higuma. Luffy also doesn't distinguish between pirates or marines, and only perceives an individual as good or bad. He believes others easily, but is never naive enough to be taken advantage of.
