Schwarzwälder (Korean: 찰스, chalseu, "Charles"), also known as Choco Werehound Brute, is an Epic Cookie released in the Braver Together BTS Crossover update (v3.8). He is of the Charge Charge type and his position is prioritized to the Front Front. Alongside Bat-Cat, he is a servant to Licorice Cookie Licorice Cookie and makes a significant appearance in World Exploration Episodes 1, 2, 3, and 4 for general meddling purposes. He appears again in Grandberry Market and Hollyberry Palace as Choco Werehound Princess, an alter ego he created to enter the Hollyberry Kingdom's Princess Contest. Though entirely speculative, it is possible that Esterházy is related to Schwarzwälder Schwarzwälder due to their shared species and visual characteristics.
Game Description
Red eyes, rough mane, sharp fangs! His name is Choco Werehound Brute, and his enormous hammer will make the Cookie Kingdom tremble! And if the sound of the distant thumping of this fearsome giant's heavy feet is not enough, his roar will make you faint! Choco Werehound Brute might be no more than Licorice Cookie Licorice Cookie's underling running itsy-bitsy errands, but his ambitions do not end here. Far from it! One day, he will become the strongest Cake Monster, and then, THEN...! The whole world will fear the name "Choco Werehound Brute!" And so, the big dreamer bids farewell to another gorgeous sunset under the pouring rain... The life of an upstart villain is rough and tough, but Choco Werehound Brute must be strong. He must not let anyone know of his proper aristocratic upbringing and his real name... Schwarzwälder.
Soulstone Description
This stone holds a piece of the soul of a hammer-wielding Cake Monster. Be it Brute or Schwarzwälder, his ambitions are big either way! Schwarzwälder's Soulstones can be acquired in World Exploration Dark Mode Stage(s) 16-21. Schwarzwälder's Soulcores can be acquired in World Exploration Master Mode Stage(s) 5-22.
Appearance
As with all hound-type Cake Monsters, Choco Werehound Brute possesses wolf-like qualities, even being able to howl like a wolf. The term "werehound" indicates that he has qualities of both a typical Cookie and of a Cake Monster, similarly to how a werewolf is a half-human/half-wolf individual. His base form seems to be made entirely from chocolate ingredients (perhaps including black forest cake, as his name suggests), with his torso being a cupcake, his head a slice of cake, and his fur icing and/or syrup, and his eyes and horns are likely made with strawberry ingredients. His hammer is presumably made from a roll cake in a similar way to Roll Cake Cookie's own hammer.
Personality
Choco Werehound Brute, alongside Bat-Cat, is a loyal underling of Licorice Cookie Licorice Cookie and generally refers to him as "Master". Choco Werehound Brute has another alias, Schwarzwälder, by which he resents being called. Regardless, Bat-Cat refers to this as his "real name."
Story
Acting as the muscle of Licorice Cookie Licorice Cookie's group, Choco Werehound Brute is exceedingly strong and capable of devastating damage against the average opponent, appearing noticeably larger than most other characters. Despite this, GingerBrave and friends have little difficulty in defeating him multiple times, after which he either immediately retreats or shifts the rest of the fighting upon someone else. He appears as a Boss in Stages 1-13 and 2-11, as well as a Boss in 12-13 as Choco Werehound Princess. He returns in Grandberry Market disguised as the Choco Werehound Princess, participating as the Darkness gang's entry into the Princess Contest. His speech improves dramatically to play the part, and he uses a feminine-sounding voice as well. As the contest progresses, he becomes more committed to the role, but also struggles as the competitions escalate. He manages to pass every test, but is ultimately disqualified when he attacks the other contestants out of retaliation from their remarks
Personality
Schwarzwälder is the first playable non-Cookie character in Cookie Run: Kingdom. Schwarzwälder is the second playable character in Cookie Run: Kingdom to not have the word “Cookie” in their name, the first being GingerBrave GingerBrave. Schwarzwalder skill Schwarzwälder's Skill art atop Black Pearl Cookie Black Pearl Cookie's Skill icon; notice the lighter lines around the top and right sides of the Skill icon Schwarzwälder's Skill icon is physically based upon that of Black Pearl Cookie Black Pearl Cookie—that is, its specific art is overlain on Black Pearl Cookie's Skill icon, though it is misaligned and the original art underneath shows. "Schwarzwälder" is a German word meaning "black forest", drawing a reference to black forest cake. According to his loading screen trivia, "When Licorice Cookie Licorice Cookie and Bat-Cat give him a rough time, Schwarzwälder likes to have a nice cup of tea alone in secret..." Schwarzwälder's gacha theme is a remix of Licorice Cookie Licorice Cookie's Trial theme from Cookie Run: OvenBreak. Schwarzwälder was designed by Seo Yeokyeong.[1] Schwarzwälder's internal name is "cookie0570". As an NPC/Boss Enemy, his internal name is "m10128". He is also occasionally referred to as "brutewander" in the game's files. Schwarzwälder shares his Korean voice actor, Park Yo-han, with Espresso Cookie Espresso Cookie. Schwarzwälder shares his English voice actor, Kellen Goff, with Wind Archer Cookie Wind Archer Cookie and Timid Sugar Gnome. Schwarzwälder shares his Taiwanese voice actor, Huang Tianyou, with Almond Cookie Almond Cookie. Schwarzwälder shares his Thai voice actor, Ukrit Distakorn, with Pitaya Dragon Cookie. Schwarzwälder shares his German and French voice actresses, Meike Schmidt and Camille Lamache, with Hollyberry Cookie Hollyberry Cookie. rudimentary, incomplete way of speaking.
Personality
Despite his hardened presentation, further interactions with Brute's allies show him as one who possesses a sense of dignity and a desire for personal fulfillment, sensibly exclaiming to Licorice Cookie that he "has [a] private life too" and cannot always do whatever the Cookie wishes. It also seems that Choco Werehound Brute has a distinct refined side, which he tries to hide to the best of his ability—his description states that he comes from a "proper aristocratic upbringing", his brutish speech and tone often slip into something notably more gentle in his quotes, and he is said to enjoy a cup of tea alone in secret when his coworkers grate on him too much. It appears that Brute's "real" name, Schwarzwälder, is a remnant of the high-class family and lifestyle of his past. It can be assumed that he has abandoned this name so as to cut ties with his old life and start a new one (besides it simply not sounding as tough as he'd like it to). While hardly anything is known about this aristocratic upbringing of his, such a detail brings Esterházy to mind and perhaps even implies that the two are related due to their shared species and apparently shared status. Alternatively, the butler-hound could have been employed by Brute's family.

Skill
Choco Chip Hammer: Schwarzwälder’s regular attack has a chance to stun the target. The first cooldown of his skill will be shortened, allowing for faster skill use. Upon using the skill, Schwarzwälder will receive the Howling effect, increasing his own ATK SPD, and DMG Resist, and increasing the team's ATK. When the effect duration is over, Schwarzwälder will charge at the enemies, strike them with his hammer, stun them, and inflict the Hammer Shock debuff. The debuff will reduce the enemies’ ATK and cause them to receive more damage from the next Schwarzwälder’s skill attacks with the hammer. While Schwarzwälder is using his skill, he will briefly become resistant to interrupting effects.
