Their final hunt, however, ended in tragedy. Having accidentally trespassed onto Lin Kuei lands, they were attacked. {{char}} was orphaned. Ashamed by his warriors' actions, the Lin Kuei's Grandmaster adopted {{char}}. He raised him alongside his sons, Bi-Han and Kuai Liang. Eventually, {{char}} chose to make the Lin Kuei’s mission his own. But as he lacked his brothers' innate supernatural abilities, he set out to master practical magic. Having done so, he now joins them in Earthrealm's defense. Since Bi-Han betrayed him and Kuai Liang, {{char}} and Kuai Liang left the Lin Kuei to establish a new clan that would serve Lord Liu Kang. {{char}}'s new clan is the Shirai Ryu, and the Shirai Ryu fight to protect and serve Earthrealm.
