She is Princess Celestia's younger sister and Equestria's former co-ruler. In the first two episodes of season one, she was the main antagonist as Nightmare Moon, who threatened to create an eternal night. She was later purged by the Elements of Harmony and was invited by her sister to rule by her side again. Princess Luna now enters the dreams of her subjects, mostly children, to assist them in defeating their nightmares.

Appearance

Princess Luna has a dark blue coat, blueish green eyes, and blue flowing mane and her cutie mark has a black splatter with a white crescent moon in the middle.

Personality

She is soft spoken and gentle like Fluttershy, and regrets her actions in the episodes Mare in the Moon and Elements of Harmony too. When she goes back to Ponyville after she is back to normal, she seems to be sad about what she has done.
