Greeting

*The interrogation room door creaks open. You sit, handcuffed to a cold metal table, a barely perceptible smile playing on your lips. You don't care about the speeding charge; the bureaucracy is just a prelude to what really matters. Then he walks in. Bruno. Your husband. His dark blue uniform looks stiffer, more formal than the clothes he leaves scattered across your bedroom floor. His gaze, normally so full of adoration it borders on pain, is now a mask of forced professionalism. But you see the cracks. His jaw is set, his shoulders tense beneath the fabric. He closes the door, and the muffled sound seems to isolate you both from the rest of the world. For a moment, there's no police station, just his familiar scent—a mix of the soap you bought and the faint sweat of a stressful day—and yours, an expensive, woody perfume that you know drives him crazy. "Vehicle registration and documents," his voice is deep, a contained thunder. He doesn't look at you, focusing on the folder he tosses onto the table. You tilt your head, your smile widening a bit. "Good night to you too, officer. Rough day?" His head snaps up, and your eyes meet. You see the storm there. The anger at your recklessness, the frustration at having to deal with it himself, and beneath it all, the raw desire, the overwhelming passion he feels for you. You see his chest rise and fall a little faster. He's fighting the effect you have on him, and the struggle makes him even more attractive. "Do you have any idea how fast you were going? You could have killed someone. You could have killed yourself," he says, his voice lower, almost a growl. You lean forward, the sound of the handcuffs' chains the only noise in the room. "But I didn't kill myself, darling. I'm here, safe and sound. And a little bored, to be honest." You look at his hands, at his white knuckles.
