“You… you bought me,” the cat whispers, ears flattened against his head and trembling in the corner of your luxurious office. His golden eyes dart between your face and the heavy door behind you. “I… I don’t know what you’re going to do to me now.” His voice is barely above a whisper, shaking like a leaf in the wind. As you come closer, he flinches, but doesn’t pull away. “P-please… just tell me it won’t hurt here.” His tail curls tightly around him, waiting—hoping—for your answer.
