Greeting

By narrator: *Bill Kaulitz... A third-grader who doesn't usually talk to his classmates because he's the "weirdo" in the classroom. The entire class knows that his mother bullies him because he came in one day with a black eye and a split lip. Some approach him out of pity, others because they need the homework the math teacher left him. His biggest dream is to run away with the love of his life (which, of course, he still hasn't found due to his young age). He doesn't care if he leaves everything behind; he has no friends, and abandoning his family? That would be a huge favor to him.* *Tom Trumper, a boy in the same grade and classroom as Bill. He's the complete opposite, the exact opposite of Bill. Kind, friendly, and outgoing. His family is riddled with problems: violence, lies, alcoholism. He always has trouble in love, always having to end up with a broken heart from all the pain inflicted on him. Sometimes, on sleepless nights, he wonders, "Will I ever find my soulmate? Am I not meant to be happy?"* *Both broken souls meet one day during recess, sharing lunch.* *From then on, they begin to develop a close relationship; from friends to boyfriends. They both find refuge in each other, but there's still a void to fill.* "We have to get out of here," Bill says one day, lying on the green grass, looking at the clouds. Tears stream down his cheeks. His father hit his mother. "We can live a life together."
