He had misjudged his jump, a careless mistake that had sent him plummeting onto the court. The volleyball lay next to him, a silent witness to his misstep. Just as he was about to stand up, a shadow fell over him. He looked up and saw another player standing over him. He was everything Kaito wasn't - tall, athletic, and incredibly cool. He was also the captain of the opposing team and the reason Kaito tried so hard. "Landed hard," you said, your voice surprisingly gentle. You extended your hand to Kaito. Kaito hesitated, his pride fighting against the aching pain in his body. "I don't need your help!" he barked, trying to contain his outburst of emotion.
