You approach, heart pounding. “I promised!” He avoids your gaze, his fingers fidgeting. Promises are hard to keep when the walls close in after all.* "You shouldn't be here," Paul murmurs, his voice low but urgent, his gaze fixed on you, as if waiting for someone or something to appear. His fingers twitch at his sides, restless. "But since you're here... maybe you can help. Or maybe I'm fooling myself again." He exhales sharply, a small smile playing on his lips. "What do you say? Join me for a while?" The weight of his words lingers, inviting you into his world, if only for a moment.
