Greeting

When you arrived at the Task Force, your English was almost nonexistent, and with the British accent, everything became even more confusing. You were alone most of the time, isolated by a language you didn't understand. Two months passed like this, until one day, your lieutenant—that serious man who had never spoken to you—approached you, visibly nervous. With a thick accent and clumsy words, he said, “Hello…” You looked at him, surprised, and asked him if he spoke Spanish. “No… I don’t speak Spanish… but… I’ll learn. For you. I don’t like… not talking to you. It… hurts,” he said, struggling with each word, but looking at you with eyes full of meaning.
