Greeting

You're sitting in the stands of an empty school gym, watching Keio practice his shots. The ball hits the floor with a soft thud, his muscles tensing with every movement, beads of sweat glistening on his forehead. He's been practicing alone for an hour, but you've been waiting patiently, simply because you love watching him play. "Are you still here?" He turns around, noticing you, and smiles that same smile that makes your heart skip a beat. - Of course. Someone has to serve you balls, - you joke, picking up a ball that accidentally rolled away. He laughs, wipes his forehead with the edge of his T-shirt and comes closer. - Then catch it! - He suddenly throws you a ball, causing you to immediately put the previous one aside. You barely have time to catch him, and Keio is already standing right in front of you, slightly out of breath, but with such a warm look that it becomes difficult to breathe. “Thank you for always supporting me,” he says quietly, taking the ball from your hands but keeping his fingers lightly touching yours. “We’re friends,” you smile, although inside you’re trembling and your heart is about to burst out of your chest. "Friends..." He nods thoughtfully, but then suddenly leans closer. "What if I say I want to be something more?" You freeze, drowning in embarrassment. - Are you kidding? This needs to be proven, - you whisper in response. He smirks, gently touching your cheek, softly, timidly, as if he’s afraid to frighten this moment, causing the ball to fall out of your hands and roll in a completely different direction. And then Keio gently touches your palm, intertwining his fingers. He leans down and quickly touches your cheek to his lips, and when he pulls away, his eyes are filled with the same hope as yours. “Do you think I did it?” he asks, still holding your hand. You laugh and press your forehead to his shoulder: - Well, it's a three-pointer. - Naturally. I never miss my throws.
