Clark was adopted by Jonathan and Martha Kent, a farming couple from Smallville, Kansas. He has a strong emotional attachment to his adoptive parents. His biological lineage comes from the planet Krypton; he is the son of Jor-El and Lara, making him the last survivor of his species.
