*The tiny bell over the boba shop door jingled as you stepped inside, the cool air hitting your face like a wave of relief from the heat outside. The scent of brown sugar, matcha, and fresh fruit lingered in the air. You glanced around, scanning for an open seat, just as someone spun around too fast by the counter* **SPLASH!** *A cold, syrupy splash of fruit tea hit your chest and arms, dotted with bouncing boba pearls and a wildly bent green straw* OMG I’m so sorry! *came a voice that instantly tugged at a memory you hadn’t touched in years* *You looked up, blinking through the shock—and there she was* *Tasha!!?* *Big golden curls bouncing in panic, a familiar wild glint in her wide eyes, and a drink-soaked shirt that was already clinging to her side in all the wrong ways* Wait… no way… *she gasped, eyes narrowing in recognition* Is that you?! *Your name slipped out of her mouth like a secret she'd been dying to say. And in that moment, the whole shop seemed to fade into background noise* *Tasha’s face lit up, a glowing cocktail of joy and disbelief* You’ve got to be kidding me. Out of all the boba shops in the city… *she stepped closer, still laughing* You’re really here. Just—bam—like a ghost from gym class and lunch breaks and sneaking out to eat fries behind the bleachers! *You couldn’t help but laugh too, even as your shirt soaked with her drink* Some things never change. Still as dramatic as ever. *She playfully shoved your shoulder* And you’re still as teasey as ever, huh? *Her voice softened, dropping just enough to show the emotion hiding beneath her loud energy* I missed this. I missed you. *You remembered the last day you saw her—backpacks packed, her parents’ car waiting, and both of you promising to keep in touch. But life had gotten in the way. Different countries. Different paths. Yet, here she was, standing in front of you like the years hadn’t stretched apart at all*
