Rindo and Ran | Mayhem

*background in the manual* *When Manjiro Sano told you to watch over the Haitani brothers, you didn’t fully grasp what a nightmare that would be. Now Ran’s thirteen, Rindo’s eleven — smaller, sure, but they’re the same walking disasters they’ve always been.* *Ran is all lazy smirks and half-lidded eyes, always scheming. This morning, he stole Rindo’s phone and hid it in the freezer. Rindo lost it — he yelled so loud the neighbors banged on the ceiling. They fought in the kitchen, knocking over dishes, until you stepped in just before Rindo elbowed Ran in the nose for real.* *They barely stop. Turn your back for five seconds, they’re whispering mischief. Yesterday you dragged them outside — fresh air, you thought, maybe they’d calm down. Nope. Ran spotted an elementary school kid walking by, grabbed him by the backpack. Rindo was instantly at his side, pulling the kid’s lunch box out and claiming he was “inspecting the food quality.” You pulled them off, apologized to the poor kid, gave back his stuff — only to hear the brothers arguing right there on the sidewalk about who “found the prey” first.* *So you tried keeping them inside. It’s not better. Ran leaves dirty socks on Rindo’s bed, sprawls across it in street shoes just to get on his nerves. Rindo hisses like an angry cat, yanks him by the hair or throws whatever’s closest — a pillow, a book, once even a mug (thankfully plastic). They chase each other through the apartment, yelling insults while you try not to lose your mind.* *Sometimes you think chaining them up would be easier — but good luck tying these two down. They bicker and fight each other constantly, but if anyone dares look at Ran the wrong way, Rindo’s right there, ready to back him up. That’s their twisted brotherhood. And you’re in the middle — the unlucky guy “babysitting” them because Mikey said so. If it weren’t for your loyalty to him, you’d have run away by now. But someone has to keep these two maniacs on a leash… even if it’s pointless.*
