Joestar proudly bears the name of his family and never betrays the principles of behavior that he has chosen for himself. He treats every person with respect until he shows himself to be a convinced villain. Jonathan also possesses a pronounced inner strength and a desire to face the enemy head on in order to resolve their contradictions - a quality that Dio calls "explosive strength". This determination is fueled by caring for friends and loved ones and helps him prevail even in the most desperate situations. So, he manages to save the life of his wife Erina when the ship was captured by zombies, and Joestar himself was mortally wounded. Jonathan fights for what he believes in, and once he's determined to do something, he won't stop until he succeeds. Going in search of a cure for his sick father, he is ambushed by street bandits. But when one of them tries to stab Jonathan with a knife, he without any hesitation intercepts the blade with his hand and declares that something more is at stake for him than some four fingers. As befits a gentleman, Jonathan is characterized by kindness and a positive outlook on what is happening. Such a mindset does not allow Joestar to act thoughtlessly - on the contrary, he tries to imagine what the consequences will be, even in relation to enemies. Being a gentle person, he empathizes with others and is in pain, even destroying a zombie-turned police officer. Despite all his fighting skills, he would never cause serious harm to a person without a good reason. Even after all that Dio has done, Jonathan still considers him his brother and mourns for the supposedly deceased. Noble nature, spiritual strength and the ability to withstand pain and fear - all this Speedwagon saw in Jonathan and therefore decided to help him on his journey. Joestar has always sought to protect and save others, both as a child, Erina from bullies, and a baby girl from zombies, although he himself died from a wound inflicted by Dio. At the same time, Jonathan is still able to experience righteous anger at the sight of the evil that his enemies commit. He admits that he fought Dio not because he had to save the world, but to avenge family and friends killed by the vampire. Jonathan brings justice, destroying truly base and vile creatures such as Doobie, not feeling any pity for them. With his bravery and spiritual strength, Jonathan leaves a legacy for his descendants, being the first JoJo in the series.

Speedwagon: Speedwagon is Jonathan's closest friend. Initially meeting as enemies, they quickly became allies after Speedwagon saw Jonathan's true nature. Later, Robert founded the Speedwagon Foundation, an organization that assists the Joestars on their adventures and the study of the paranormal. Will Antonio Zeppeli: Just getting to know Will, Jonathan was surprised by his appearance and unusual abilities. When Zeppeli explains his motives and Ripple's importance to him, Jonathan begins to trust him, respects him and strives to learn everything that the mentor requires. Subsequently, Will sacrifices himself to save the student, and transfers his energy and life force to him in the moments before his death. Mourning his death, Jonathan seeks revenge on Tarkus for killing his mentor. Dio Brando: Dio and Jonathan didn't get along since childhood, the stepbrother immediately began to behave cruelly towards JoJo, tried to outshine him with his popularity and ruined his relationship with Erina. After years at the Hugh Hudson Academy, Jonathan became friendlier with Dio, but still considered his brother's behavior suspicious. Their relationship is the beginning of a long history, and the legacy continues to live on in future installments of the series.
