Aliases The Black Oni Species Human (formerly) Fractured Human Warrior (formerly) Half-Fractured Human Gender Male Hair Color Black Eye Color Unknown (Black when fracturing) Occupation Chief of SKAT (Formerly) Leader of the Black Oni Corps Second in Command of DDL Relatives Kimihito Mikazuchi (Son) Affiliation SKAT (Formerly) Deader Land Leaders The Black Oni Corps. Takemitsu Mikazuchi (三日土 竹光, Mikazuchi Takemitsu) served as the Chief of the 'Special Kajin Analysis Team' and was the supervisor of Shintaro Jagasaki. One day, he became infected with a frenzied tadpole, transforming him into a Fractured Human Warrior and leading him to meet his Partner, the Crested Kingfisher BB. During his tenure as Chief, he was partnered with an undercover specialist agent, Nakadai. Recently, however, he has assumed command of the Black Oni Corps as their leader, The Black Oni, after striking a deal with Nomans Nomen to resurrect his son Kimihito Mikazuchi.
Appearance
Mikazuchi is a tall man with a spiky undercut hairstyle. He typically wears black trousers, a button-up vest with a tie, and a white button-up shirt. He is often seen chewing on a piece of pencil lead, much like one would chew on a toothpick.
Personality
Mikazuchi is an intelligent yet cold and distant individual who recognizes Jagasaki's potential as an ally. However, he resorts to using the head of his deceased girlfriend, Yuriko Ishizaka, as leverage to coerce him into joining SKAT. His cunning is further demonstrated when he feigns death after being shot in the head, allowing him to observe Kudarantula and uncover the secret behind his webbing. After subduing Kudarantula and hearing his desperate pleas for mercy—despite having just shot Mikazuchi—he feels a surge of anger. In response to Kudarantula's begging, Mikazuchi dismisses his life as "second-rate" and beheads him with a carbon sword. Following this confrontation, it becomes clear that Mikazuchi does not recognize half-fractured humans as truly human, despite their sanity. When presented with the opportunity by Nomans Nomen to resurrect his son, he quickly demonstrates his willingness to sever all ties with others to secure his son's life. While not inherently evil, he is determined to do whatever it takes to uphold the bargain he made with the Deader Land Area King. In the end, after being spared by Jagasaki, Mikazuchi reveals a self-sacrificial aspect of his personality. When his son asks him to help Jagasaki, he makes the profound decision to sacrifice his own life to protect Jagasaki, fully aware that this choice is highly likely to leave his revived son alone, an outcome that starkly contrasts with his long-held desire to live together with him.
Skills
Police Training Mikazuchi has undergone both physical and mental training to manage stressful situations. As a police officer, he is skilled in firearms and hand-to-hand combat. Hardening Carbon Infected by the frenzied tadpole, Mikazuchi can generate a layer of carbon beneath his skin and create carbon objects, such as swords. This carbon is ten times harder than diamond, rendering it impervious to most attacks. However, he must continuously consume carbon in the form of graphite from pencil lead to maintain his abilities; The more he consumes, the more he can produce. Carbon Wave It would also seem that he is now capable of, after ingesting large amounts of graphite, forcing out a large amount of spiked carbon in a devastating wave after stabbing his sword into the ground.
Transformations
Fractured Human Warrior Mikazuchi's second form marks the beginning of significant transformations. In this state, he can convert parts of his body beneath the skin into carbon, providing protection against nearly any attack. He cleverly uses this ability to absorb what would typically be a fatal blow, feigning death to catch his enemy off guard. Even in battle, Mikazuchi can withstand all damage, as the carbon composition of his body is ten times harder than diamond. Additionally, he can create carbon weapons, such as swords or kunai, which are as indestructible as he is and can be honed to razor-sharp edges, capable of beheading someone with a single strike in some instances. However, it is evident that his carbon weapons are not infallible; for example, when Shintarou Jagasaki blocks Mikazuchi's carbon sword with Jagan in its pistol form, a large spark occurs, but no significant dent is left on Jagan. The Black Oni (Half-Fractured Human) After his son is revived by Nomans Nomen, Mizakuchi decides to ally with him and becomes his Second in Command of DDL. During this time, he reveals his third form, undergoing a striking transformation; his carbon skin resembles armor that entirely envelops his body. An Oni mask conceals his face, while a long mane of white fur or hair flows down his back. At first glance, he might appear completely fractured, but it's revealed that he can shift back and forth between this new transformation. Following this change, his control over his carbon dramatically improves, allowing him to extend it outward in the form of spikes that can cover any part of his body.
Frenzied Frog
Mad Xenopus (マッドゼノパス, Maddozenopasu?), or Frenzied Frogs (キチガエル, Kichigaeru?) as Doku refers to them, are a mysterious species of frog attracted to human desires, contributing to the Fractured Human phenomenon in the world of Jagaaaaaan. If a Fractured Human is killed, the frog escapes from the corpse in search of a new host. This makes it essential for a Fractured Human warrior's companion to kill and consume the frog after it has left the host, in order to prevent the rise of another, potentially stronger, Fractured Human. Doku explains that these frogs were released by an unknown alien race on Earth throughout human history to gather data on human desire. Once a human is infected by a Frenzy Frog, they enter an incubation period, which determines the Fractured Human's overall strength based on the length of this period. This length is influenced by the host's ability to control their desires. These ideas, along with others about Frenzy Frogs, were discovered by Misogi Hakuto. He calls his findings the Peace Theory, suggesting that the relationship between the after-effects of feeding on the frogs can be expressed as (Incubation Period + Desire Control = Strength as a Fractured Human). After Nomen's disappearance and Chiharu's apparent death, 90% of the Frenzied Frogs are either destroyed or captured. Frenzy Frogs represent the fully mature stage of the Frenzy Frog life cycle. They are attracted to humans who exhibit destructive impulses, such as anger and pride. These frogs can cause their hosts to become Fractured Humans. This transformation results from the frogs feeding on the host's internal impulses and desires, regardless of whether they are positive or negative.
Frantic tadpole
Frenzy Tadpoles are the juvenile stage of Frenzy Frogs and are attracted to humans with virtuous impulses, such as Justice and Repentance. They can transform their hosts into Fractured Human warriors, rather than ordinary Fractured Humans. This transformation allows them to retain their humanity and usually grants them powers that surpass those of an average Fractured Human. Tadpoles appear to be less reliant on feeding off their desires, which helps fractured human warriors maintain their humanity. However, using the powers granted by the tadpole will cause the host to gradually become a fractured human, as this is how the tadpole feeds off its desires. Alternatively, the tadpole can mature into an adult frog if left alone for an extended period. Early symptoms of a tadpole maturing in the host include dizziness, lightheadedness, palpitations, difficulty breathing, and hallucinations. To stop a frenzied tadpole from maturing, the host can absorb the powder from a Duhnng ball through its mucous membrane or exert its willpower to halt the process. However, these are only temporary solutions, as tadpoles can adapt to them and mature faster each time their growth is interrupted. This creates a competition among the host to eliminate more frenzied tadpoles than the tadpole can mature. If they reach full maturity, following the Peace Theory formula and considering the inherent strength of their hosts, these ancient tadpoles can potentially empower a host capable of killing thousands, surpassing the killing capacity of an evolved Fractured Human. This situation can worsen if the tadpole receives enough nourishment to trigger an evolution within the Fractured Human, further increasing its already considerable potential.
Fractured humans
Fractured Human ( Kaijin ? ) 壊カイ人ジン refers to an individual who houses a Frenzied Frog within themselves. This creature, after residing in the host's nervous system, feeds on their repressed thoughts and emotions in order to grow. Eventually, the victim will lose all semblance of their former self and transform into a monstrous being shaped by their desires; this transformation is called the "Fractured Human Transformation." All Fractured Humans exhibit enhanced strength and speed, as well as regenerative healing abilities in this form. When a Fractured Human is destroyed, the Frenzied Frog within them survives and attempts to escape in search of a new host. After being infected by a Frenzied Frog, a human enters an incubation period. The length of this period, influenced by the victim's control over their desires, determines the overall strength of the resulting Fractured Human. This phenomenon, along with other characteristics of Frenzy Frogs, was researched by Misogi Hakuto. In his "Peace Theory," he proposes that the basic formula for the Frenzy Frogs' feeding effect can be summarized as: "Incubation Period + Desire Control = Strength as a Fractured Human Being."
SKAT
The Kajin Special Analysis Team, abbreviated as SKAT, is a police unit specifically created to address Fragmented Human activities. It was formed during the chaotic Frog epidemic, before the public was fully aware of the unfolding crisis in Buppa City. Recently, following the downfall of Triple H and the rise of crimes against Fragmented Humans involving semi-fractured individuals, the SKAT has proactively participated in combating the Fragmented Human crisis and has taken steps to stop Chiharu Matsuyamachi's operations. The unit is led by Chief Mikazuchi Takemitsu. SKAT's primary responsibility is to collect Frenzy Frogs and investigate Fractured Human-related activities. This includes examining any Fractured Human, semi-Fractured individual, or warrior. The unit will assess whether a Frenzy Frog's suspected host is infected by gathering information on their recent activities, including their proximity to known Fractured Human sites. If any criteria are met, SKAT employs its undercover agent, Nakadai, to infiltrate the suspect's residence or workplace. His goal is to determine if the individual exhibits signs of Fractured Human symptoms or unusual behavior. If these signs appear, a further investigation will be conducted, and Nakadai will report to SKAT Headquarters, where evidence will be gathered to determine the suspect's infection status.
SKAT (part 2)
If a suspect is confirmed to be infected, SKAT will take one of four possible actions: Fractured humans who do not offend SKAT's approach to non-criminal fractured individuals is still unclear, except in special circumstances. The unit is expected to monitor these individuals for signs of fracture, criminal behavior, or power accumulation. If these signs appear, SKAT will respond based on the specific circumstances. Fractured Human Criminal In cases where a Fractured Human is involved in illegal activities, such as murder, rape, or drug distribution, SKAT will confront and attempt to apprehend the individual(s) involved. The initial response is to arrest the suspect for questioning. It is unknown what happens after their usefulness is exhausted, but it is common for these encounters to escalate into battles, often resulting in the suspect transforming and attacking the unit. If the unit prevails, the suspect is usually killed to avoid further conflict and to collect their Frenzy Frog postmortem. An exception to this pattern was Wachi Souta, whose tears were exploited by Kudarantula for production and sale under the brand name "Shu! Wa! Chi!". Because he had not intentionally killed anyone and received the opportunity from then-new team member Shintarou Jagasaki, Souta was taken in for questioning and subsequently joined SKAT. Powerful fractured humans If a half-fractured human or a fractured human warrior becomes too powerful to be easily neutralized, SKAT will attempt to recruit them, often resorting to blackmail to gain their submission. If this approach fails, the individual will be classified as a criminal fractured human and likely face execution to prevent a possible fracture. If recruitment is successful, the individual will undergo training to hunt and combat other fractured human.
SKAT (Part 3)
Completely fractured humans Once an individual is completely fractured, neither arrest nor recruitment is feasible, as the transformation entails a complete loss of humanity. In such cases, the priority is to eliminate the individual to prevent potential property damage and loss of life. Upon the individual's death, SKAT will harvest the Frenzied Frog from the deceased host. Structure SKAT operates similarly to a police department, composed of a chief as leader, an undercover agent for espionage missions, and inspectors who act as detectives. All members have the authority to use their powers in self-defense and to detain or eliminate Fractured Humans when necessary. New members likely won't enjoy the same privileges, as they haven't yet reached full membership.
