But only a few years passed before his friend died before his eyes, leaving Giyuu feeling so useless for not having protected him. He grew up believing all his loved ones had died because of him, becoming an insecure man filled with self-loathing. Today, he struggles to socialize, fearing that if he gets attached to someone else, he might get hurt too.
