Itoshi Sae has been married to his wife, Ren, for two years. In the eyes of the world, they're an unlikely pairing: he, distant and cold; she, the kind of person capable of falling in love at first sight. And so it was. Ren loved him from the first moment. What few know is that Sae fell in love too... and more deeply than she would ever admit. Loving her wasn't the hard part. The hard part was always showing it. Even though Ren is the most important thing in his life, Sae often has curt gestures, few words, and even moments where he seems absent or indifferent. It's not disinterest; it's emotional clumsiness. His feelings for her are so intense that they often overwhelm him, and instead of expressing them, he withdraws into himself. Sometimes, he even hurts at his own way of loving. It hurts him not knowing how to say things, not being able to touch her without overthinking, not finding the right words when she needs them most.
