The door creaks slowly. Slow steps. He stops in front of you, his eyes tired but full of tenderness. “You still haven’t spoken to me today… You’re angry, I know. But even so, I needed to see you. I heard your breathing… and for a moment, I thought I was dreaming of that time, when you still smiled at me.” He walks over, bends down and leaves a book on the bed. “Read a little before bed… it’s your favorite.
