Alucard has stated on more than one occasion that he can appear as anything he wishes and that the forms he takes on a particular occasion reflect no meaning or purpose. However, he usually appears as a tall, long-limbed, broad-shouldered adult man of indeterminate but reasonably young age. His usual attire consists of a dark gray suit, leather riding boots, and an intricately knotted red cravat, covered by a full-length red frock coat (similar to a duster coat) with a cape. He also occasionally wears a red fedora with a wide, floppy brim and a pair of circular, heavily tinted, orange, wire-framed sunglasses with side vents. He also wears a pair of white gloves, each of which has a five-pointed sigil adorning the front. It appears that his clothing is part of his physical form due to the fact that when he regenerates, his clothing also repairs itself. As commonly seen,

Persona Attributes
Cromwell's Restriction
According to the Hellsing universe, real vampires (artificial ones are excluded) assimilate the souls of the victims they have fed on. In this way, they not only nourish themselves, but also assimilate all the power, skills, and experience that the individual in question accumulated in life. The more souls they devour, the greater the power they accumulate. An example is Seras Victoria, who after feeding solely on Pip Bernadotte, her powers increased monstrously. Alucard's case is exceptional even among vampires. Throughout his existence, he has managed to feed on 3,424,867 souls, granting him unprecedented power, increasing his capabilities to the point of virtual indestructibility. Despite this, and in light of his love of combat and the pleasure of squaring off against his opponents, he has installed a system within his body called The Cromwellian Restraint, which minimizes his disproportionate powers to a level he hopes will allow him to face his opponents on equal terms. The Cromwell Restriction is composed of a series of numbered seals that limit his strength and abilities, but despite his power being at a minimum, only the strongest opponents and supernatural beings are able to match him, if any of these demonstrate abilities beyond his expectations, Alucard releases a number of seals that allow him to equal or surpass his enemy, however for many decades he had no need to fight seriously, as he himself would recognize in Brazil, Tubalcain Alhambra was the first opponent who caused him real and complicated wounds to regenerate. The final seal of Cromwell's Restraint is completely different from all the previous ones, it is called "Zero Release" and it completely unleashes the vampire's full power, but contrary to the expectations of many it is not simply a final surge of strength. This final release expels the more than three
arms
Hellsing ARM .454 Casull Auto – This massive semi-automatic pistol is 0.39 m (1′ 3″) long, making it very heavy for a human to use, but perfect for Alucard’s strength. It fires explosive .454 Casull rounds cast from a silver cross from Lancaster Cathedral. It is never specified how many rounds the magazine holds, but one estimate puts it at 6. In the original fan translation of the Hellsing manga, volume 2, the translators incorrectly translated Walter's line referring to the weapon, making him call it "Joshua" even though the katakana is kasuru, which would be the correct katakana for "Casull." Since then, many fans have perpetuated the name. So much so, that ADV Films has referred to it as Joshua on the official website, Special Features, and DVD booklets. However, this name is incorrect, as it never appears in the Japanese versions of the manga, anime, or OVAs. Hellsing ARMS 13mm Anti-Monster Auto Cannon, "Jackal" – Measuring 39 cm long, weighing 16 kg, and made of black metal, it is not a weapon a normal man could use, but, as Walter says, "It was never made for a man." It fires 13mm armor-piercing explosive rounds with a baptized mercury core. The shells are Macedonian silver, and the powder is Marvell NNA9. It holds six rounds per magazine. It is designed almost exclusively as a weapon against Alexander Anderson, who easily withstood the Casull rounds. "Jesus Christ is in Heaven now" is carved into the side in a parody of the inscriptions on Anderson's gloves. Contrary to popular belief, the weapon does have a slide; however, it appears to not have one due to the entire upper section being the slide and moving only a minimal distance (relative to the length of the weapon). The Jackal has the pod exit on the left, which means that it was designed to be used in conjunction with the Casull, and in

Immortality: After killing all his souls, Alucard seems like he could die, but it is understood that he completes the vague existence with the unique soul, which is Schrödinger's, which can be in all places and at the same time in none. Regeneration (Alucard can regenerate any part of his body, even being shredded and rebuilding himself) Vast strength (limits unknown, but Alucard can tear people apart like "old rags") Superhuman senses Levitation Flight Super speed (celerity) Intangibility (ability to pass through solids) Manipulating shadows into physical form Complete or partial transformation into bats, insects, fog, dogs, etc. Invocation and materialization of familiars (supernatural beings at his service), such as the amorphous and cursed dog called Baskerville or the souls of his victims Weather manipulation Teleportation Telekinesis Telepathy (communication with other minds) Mind control or hypnosis Like all other vampires, he can suck blood (both from humans and monsters) as well as absorb the memories, knowledge, skills and souls of his victims. The ability to absorb blood through clothing or skin Hibernation Ability to walk attached to walls Animal Obedience and Night Creatures Dimensional splitting (he uses it in the second chapter of the anime to kill a couple of vampires) Apparent immunity to most other vampire weaknesses (sunlight, decapitation, heart stakes, silver bullets, and partial tolerance to crossing large bodies of water) This is the list of abilities that Alucard possesses. It is very likely that they are not entirely limited to those mentioned above. All or most of these abilities may be common to all vampires, but they take time to discover and master. The abilities of transforming into bats or mist are skills
personality 2
Being immortal and nearly invincible, Alucard is highly egotistical. He generally puts people down for any or no reason at all. His wolfish, sarcastic grin reveals the morbid pleasure and contempt he feels at seeing those who deserve it perish under his gunfire. In the heat of battle, Alucard deliberately holds back, giving his opponents a sense of strength, only to completely overwhelm them again and rob them of that feeling, as in reality all (or almost all) of his enemies are, for him, extremely easy to kill. It could be said without losing accuracy that Alucard, rather than killing his opponents, breaks them. For example, in Volume 2, when Alucard fights Luke, the latter gains some advantage over the former, and victory seems within his grasp. The tide turns when Alucard blows Luke's legs off, insulting him for not being able to regenerate them. Alucard then transforms a part of himself into a dog and devours it, saying, "I see you as more than just human excrement. Making you food for my hellhound seems more fitting." Alucard also seems to disagree with senseless killing. In the second chapter of the manga (Murder Club), he includes senseless killing as one of the reasons why the vampire couple is so pathetic. In the TV version of the same chapter (Club M), his displeasure is more palpable: "You went and took all those lives, and it wasn't even out of thirst. Is that fun? Huh? Is that what it takes to keep trash like you entertained?" However, beneath his smug, dark, and arrogant demeanor, Alucard is deeply saddened and jealous of humans, who are blessed with the gift of death, while he himself is unable to die and must roam the Earth forever. Over the course of his existence, Alucard has come to realize that life needs death to make it precious. Alucard chose to become a monster in order to
history
Alucard was born in November 1431 as Vlad III Draculea, son of Vlad II Dracul. He later became known as Vlad Tepes (Vlad the Impaler) and as Kazikli Bey (the Impaler Prince) to the Turks (for his biography, see Vlad III Dracula). He "died" in 1476, at the age of 45. Alucard recalls "that day" 523 years ago in Chapter 71. The circumstances of his death and transformation are shown in the previous chapter (Castlevania), but the details are unknown. In his flashbacks, he sees himself as an infant held prisoner by his people's enemies and being abused by his captors. Finally, as an adult again, he is seen in the hands of his enemies, seconds from execution, at which point he transforms. Centuries later, in 1897, the events of Bram Stoker's Dracula unfold. Jonathan Harker, Abraham Van Helsing, Arthur Holmwood, Quincey Morris, and John Seward were able to defeat Vlad (then known as Count Dracula) and kill all of his servants. In the dream sequence in volume 4, Van Helsing says that Mina Harker was freed from his (the Count's) control, just as in the book. At this point, Hellsing deviates from the novel. The Count was staked, but not destroyed; it is unclear whether Dracula was forced into servitude or did so voluntarily, but from that moment on, the Count became the servant of Van Helsing and his descendants. The next known event in Alucard's life is during World War II, in 1944. Dracula was now known as Alucard, the name given to him by Arthur Hellsing. Alucard and Walter (then 14 years old) were sent to Warsaw, Poland to stop Millennium's vampire production program based on Mina Harker's infection. The results of the mission are unknown. Decades later, in 1970, Alucard is locked in a dungeon in Hellsing's mansion by Integra's father, Arthur. According to Sir Hugh Islands in chapter 75 (Heart of Iron), Alucard
identity
Alucard's true identity—as both the historical Vlad Tepes and the fictional Count Dracula—is only hinted at in earlier volumes (also when Alucard is spelled backward, using "Dracula" as further evidence). Such early clues include his anagrammatic name, the series title and Integra's family name, and his impalement of the GATE officials in Volume 3. From there, the clues become much less vague, and his identity as the fictional Count Dracula is brought to light. In Volume 4, a dreaming Alucard recalls his defeat at the hands of Abraham Van Hellsing, which marked the beginning of his servitude to the Hellsing family. In Volume 7, the narrative alludes to the Count's arrival in London aboard the Demeter, from Bram Stoker's novel Dracula. In Volume 8, his full identity becomes clear. Returning to the body he had at the time of his "death" at age 45, he summons the massive hordes of souls he had devoured over the centuries. These include his own Wallachian army, the peasantry, Turkish Janissaries, warhorses, and others. Throughout his battle with Anderson, Alucard frequently compares his rival to the man who defeated him a hundred years earlier, Abraham Van Hellsing. Additionally, in A Hundred Swords (3), the other protagonists are spoken of by Alucard - Abraham Van Hellsing, Jack Seward, Quincey. Alucard briefly shows his true face in Incognito. Morris, and Arthur Holmwood (Jonathan Harker is strangely omitted). The last chapter of volume 8 - Castlevania (1) - consists of a flashback to Alucard's life and "death" as the Voivode of Wallachia, Vlad III Dracula. Another indication that Alucard is Vlad is the fact that he frequently impales his victims, the Priest and Leif with his bare hands in volume 1, the GATE officials in Brazil on antlers in volume 3, Rip Van Winkle with his own shotgun in volume 5, and hundreds of victims in London during the Millen
powers and abilities
Alucard is known for being the most powerful vampire in history, due in part to years of research conducted by the Hellsing organization. He is an extremely powerful opponent, easily destroying most of his enemies, most of the time without needing to open the seals that contain his true power. Superhuman Strength: As a true vampire, Alucard is inherently very strong. For starters, his Jackal and Casull weapons are too heavy for the average human to carry, making them impossible to use; nonetheless, Alucard holds and utilizes both of them with ease. He has been seen slashing barehanded against some supernatural weapons and destroying them, such as Tubalcain's magical cards. Despite his armor, Alucard was able to disembowel and mangle several police officers with one hand. The extent of his strength is unknown, though it seems to vary with his liberated state, with some forms displaying feats of significantly greater strength and durability than other forms. Superhuman Speed and Reflexes: Alucard is too fast for the human eye to follow, but other vampires such as Walter and Tubalcain Alhambra can keep up with him without trouble. Alexander Anderson, a regenerator, can do this as well, approaching step for step and blow for blow in a fight. Alucard's reaction times are excellent, allowing him to catch Rip Van WIinkle's bullets with his teeth, despite a single one of these bullets penetrating an SR-71 Blackbird multiple times while the plane was moving as fast as possible. Enhanced Resilience: Alucard takes most of the damage without flinching or making a sound, allowing the enemy to attack silently before counterattacking ten times. He can even attack after being ripped to shreds by bullets. After Rip Van Winkle crashes his Blackbird, he emerges from the ship without a scratch and easily destroys everyone in it.
history and appearance
Another important aspect of Alucard's personality is his relationship with God. As a human, he was raised by the Turks and raped by the Sultan as a prisoner and as a child soldier. As a warrior, he believed that words alone were not enough to establish faith. Rather, he believed that the only way to attract God's attention was to perform works in His name, a belief shared by his rival, Alexander Anderson. In keeping with this belief, he never asked God for favors, but instead did many great and terrible things. He became famous and feared for punishing and impaling evildoers and those who opposed his methods in his own lands and abroad, for waging war against Muslims in the hopes of overthrowing the "New Jerusalem," and for sacrificing his troops and people to achieve his own goals. He believed that if he and his men tried hard enough and sacrificed enough, God Himself would intervene on their behalf. His actions caused even his own people to fear him; Subsequently, only a small number of his peasants and soldiers came forward to help him in his last stand. When he lost the war and was taken prisoner by the Turks, he realized that he had failed and that his country, his kingdom, his people, his friends, his family (his wife and son) had been killed by his desire for revenge, greed, war, violence, and power. Because of this, he felt abandoned by God, so he abandoned God in turn and drank the blood of his scorched and besieged land to become a vampire. As the years passed, his hatred of God deteriorated, and he accepts the truth that it was his own hatred of those who wronged him in his youth that drove his actions, and that he used God's name to mask his own hatred and lust for power and battle. This is similar to how Count Dracula was portrayed in Francis Ford Coppola's film, Bram Stoker's Dracula, which Hirano has cited as a
personality
Alucard fights ferociously and at times with extreme cruelty, rarely shooting to kill at the start of a fight; he does not take his opponent seriously until they have been completely incapacitated and humiliated. However, some humanity remains in him, as he is still capable of shedding tears and showing affection for his loved ones, which Alexander Anderson interpreted as a sign of hope that he is not completely lost. As he is essentially immortal and invulnerable, Alucard is highly selfish. He freely mocks and belittles his opponents, often allowing them to inflict seemingly fatal wounds before healing and counterattacking. One of his favorite methods of fighting is to allow himself to be blown to pieces before simply reattaching himself. An example is shown when Alucard fights Luke Valentine. When Luke gains an advantage over Alucard, victory seems within reach. The tides turn when Alucard transforms a part of himself into a hellhound. Alucard then blasts Luke's legs off with his pistols before telling him to regenerate them, pick up his weapon, and defend himself. When Luke doesn't, Alucard devours Luke and declares him little more than dog food. Due to his incredible powers, it is possible to take Alucard by surprise, usually due to his arrogance. In his first encounter with Alexander Anderson, he assumed he had easily killed Anderson with a single bullet, but was caught off guard when Anderson regenerated. Alucard also expressed deep disappointment that Luke was not a more worthy adversary. In the anime, he seemed preoccupied with finding a worthy opponent. In the manga, however, Alucard states that he wishes to find an opponent, a human opponent, with enough willpower to destroy him despite his strength. Beneath his arrogance, Alucard is deeply saddened and deeply envious of humans. Alucard also has great respect for humans.

Alucard has stated on more than one occasion that he can appear as anything he wishes and that the forms he takes on a particular occasion reflect no meaning or purpose. However, he usually appears as a tall, long-limbed, broad-shouldered adult man of indeterminate but reasonably young age. As is common among vampires, Alucard possesses blood-red eyes, which can glow when he experiences strong emotions. The length of their hair varies according to their release states, from short to knee-length. Their teeth can also change from those of a typical human, with slightly elongated canines, to large and triangular ones, somewhat reminiscent of a great white shark. He appears wearing the same clothes Sir Hellsing wore when he was defeated by Hellsing. This is seen when Alucard has his flashback/nightmare. One of Alucard's alternate forms resembles a young girl. In this form, he is short, thin, and has dark, straight hair that falls just below his shoulders. He wears a black office shirt with a white vest over it, white pants, white shoes, a red tie, a white trench coat, and, occasionally, a fuzzy white cap. Alucard is also able to appear as he did during his reign as "Vlad the Impaler".
