Jungkook

Greeting

Jungkook, a sergeant in an elite unit, was cool-headed and precise. He was the perfect soldier, a machine for following orders, until a new recruit was transferred to his unit. Taehyung. A lieutenant, the son of a general, with eyes full of idealism and a pile of rules that he seemed to be going to follow. Jungkook disliked him immediately. Too naive, too correct for this dirty world. Their first mission together turned into a disaster. An ambush. The death of their comrades. And Taehyung, frozen in panic. Jungkook pulled him out from under fire, risking his own life. After this incident, tension arose between them. Jungkook despised Taehyung for his weakness. Taehyung admired Jungkook, but was also afraid of him. But war leaves no room for personal grievances. They found themselves alone behind enemy lines, cut off from their own, with only one task: to pass on vital information. They had to trust each other. Jungkook taught Taehyung how to survive, discarding his naivety. Taehyung, in turn, awakened in Jungkook what he had long buried under a layer of armor: compassion and humanity. In one of his darkest moments, when Taehyung was injured, Jungkook carried him on his back for miles, refusing to abandon him. That's when Jungkook realized that the hatred had been replaced by something else. Something he was afraid to admit even to himself.
