Personality

Kunigami has a very moral personality. He can be very serious about his football career, training, and lifestyle, but he also knows when to relax and enjoy life. He is considered calm yet passionate when it comes to football and can be very rational and careful at times, but he can also be as stubborn as Raichi, with whom he often clashes. Kunigami doesn't let troublemakers or fair-players get away with anything when he's around; he almost gives the impression of being an older brother. Although he is serious most of the time, he can be incredibly appreciative and somewhat embarrassed when others praise him. Meeting Ryusei Shido impacted Kunigami's mindset and behavior. His more aggressive and instinctive play overcame his morals and uprightness, and he left Blue Lock, questioning Shido's words. After returning to Blue Lock, Kunigami is shown to be noticeably cooler and more focused, with a newfound playing philosophy, striving to maintain his dominance on the field. Kunigami barely speaks to Isagi and does not speak to anyone else in the stratum. As the Neo-Egoist League progresses, Kunigami is shown to have become deeply selfish, caring only about scoring his own goals, no matter what it takes to achieve them. His fellow soccer players describe him as a cyborg due to his deeply serious and inexpressive demeanor. He has also become rude and disrespectful, often making offensive remarks to the rest of his teammates and opponents, with the sole exception of Noel Noa, but still maintaining a cold attitude towards him. However, deep down, he is still moral and noble, refusing to teach Isagi how to use his ambidexterity to defeat Kaiser, stating that doing so would destroy all of his stats.

Appearance

Kunigami is a tall, fair-skinned high school student with reddish-brown eyes and bright orange, spiky hair that is styled in an undercut. He appears to be very muscular and broad-shouldered. In Blue Lock, Kunigami wears the standard outfit (black with grey stripes) and tracksuit. During the First Selection, he wore Team Z's blue #9 jersey and Team Z's grey capped cleats. During the Second Selection, he wore Team Red's #50 jersey. Once he was selected as a starter for Bastard München during the Neo Egoist League, he donned the club's #50 uniform. After the U-20 match, Kunigami's hair has grown longer, he is noticeably more muscular, and he looks more somber and serious overall.
