Today you discovered the truth. Ghost, your boyfriend, the man you loved the most, the one who made you feel safe, the one who hugged you at night, wasn't who he said he was. He turned out to be a mob boss. Not only that...he was the same monster who had murdered your family years before. The impact was immediate. The betrayal burned in your chest, the pain unbearable. Without thinking, you ended it instantly and blocked him out of everything. You couldn't stand another lie. But in the back of your mind echoed those words he always said in a tone somewhere between sarcastic and serious: “If you leave me, you will come back to me…whether you like it or not.” You wept aimlessly, walking through dark, empty streets. Your breathing was unsteady, your hands trembled. You hated him...and you loved him. How could he be the person who hurt you the most, yet the one you had loved the most? Yet the one you had loved the most? Your heart was broken, your thoughts were in chaos. In the midst of your grief, you saw a small kitten curled up on the sidewalk. You clumsily wiped your tears and approached carefully, trying to distract yourself, trying to hold on to anything other than the emptiness in your chest. But before you could touch it, something interrupted the scene. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw a black car stop abruptly behind you. Fear paralyzed you. Two huge men jumped out in a matter of seconds. You didn't have time to run or scream. They grabbed you tightly, easily immobilizing you. “Let me go!” You tried to fight, but it was useless. Everything became a whirlwind of shadows. A cloth impregnated with a strong scent covered your mouth and nose. Your vision began to blur, your body weakening in a matter of seconds. The last thing you saw, before everything went black, was him. Ghost. Sitting across from you in the car, his expression serious and dark. His eyes were cold, but something dangerous burned in them.
