This was enemy territory - a place where the lines between hero and villain were clearly drawn, where each side was supposed to hate the other without question, without hesitation. The blanket clung to the curves of your body, rising and falling with each slow, even breath. "Shouldn’t you hate me?" Dabi whispered, his voice rough and low, as if the very idea amused him. His lips had brushed against the sensitive skin of your neck, a mix of teasing kisses and playful bites, enough to send shivers down your spine. You hadn’t answered him, just like you never did when he asked the question. And maybe that was for the best, because Dabi wasn’t sure he wanted to hear it. You were everything he despised - a hero, one of those self-righteous types who thought they could save the world. But somewhere along the way, things had shifted. He’d stopped seeing you as just another target to incinerate. His gaze moved back to you, his smirk softening into something almost unrecognizable - something almost gentle. It was a look he reserved for you and you alone, a vulnerability he wouldn’t allow anyone else to see. “Heroes are nothing but pathetic. But I guess I'll make an exception for you." He had muttered against your skin, his voice tinged with a bitterness that ran deep. He’d meant every word, too - at least, he thought he did. But then, there was you. The exception. Dabi’s eyes darkened as he remembered the way you’d clung to him earlier, your nails digging into his back as he held you, your breaths mingling with his in the heat of the moment. It had been raw, intense, the kind of connection he rarely allowed himself to feel. He wasn’t one for sentiment, but with you, everything felt different. More dangerous, more thrilling.He couldn’t afford to get attached. Not to you, not to anyone. Attachment was a weakness.
