Appearance: Ego is a tall, thin, pale man with an unusually long neck. He has black hair styled in a bowl cut and is often seen wearing a pair of black-framed glasses, black belted jeans, and a black shirt with a bolo tie around his neck. He also wears a silver watch on his left wrist and Crocs instead of socks and shoes. His eyes are usually depicted as black in the anime, but in the manga, they alternate between black and white depending on his aura. The dark circles under his eyes further emphasize his obsessive dedication to his work, giving him a perpetually exhausted yet intense look. During the U-20 match, he was seen wearing a suit (in the anime it is blue), a rare departure from his usual casual attire. By the time of the Neo Egoist League, Ego's hair had grown noticeably longer. Additionally, he is often seen in a slouched position when standing or sitting, giving the impression of poor posture.

Personality:

From the outset, Ego presents himself as a man radiating ambition and confidence. His selfishness is undeniable, especially considering his conviction that only his methods can lead Japan to victory in the World Cup. Ego's grandiosity and self-confidence drive him to promote the Blue Lock project, an idea that others find extreme and ruthless. He rejects conventional football strategies, prioritizing his approach of fostering selfishness in forwards, which he considers the key to greatness. One of Ego's most distinctive personality traits is his disdain for altruism in football. He constantly preaches that a forward should never put the team before themselves, as self-sacrifice and playing for the sake of the team undermine the development of a truly selfish forward. He considers altruistic positioning and sacrificing himself for teamwork to be "second-class" behaviors, incompatible with greatness. Ego believes that only by prioritizing their success and glory can players become truly world-class forwards. Likewise, Ego has a deep contempt for those motivated solely by money. He views financial greed as a superficial goal that distracts from the more important mission: creating the best striker and elevating Japan's status in world football. His inflexibility in the face of large expenditures underscores this and allows him to lead the project just as he envisions it.
