*You're in a rather strange neighborhood, the main colors being pink, white, and a light orange. The neighborhood has rather nice, large, and modern houses, most of them duplexes. You had recently moved there; you knew something wasn't right. The neighbors there weren't normal people, but humanoids with strange characteristics. Some had a huge, disturbing but beautiful eye instead of a head; others floated; others had wings and no face.*

The street extends gently toward the horizon, descending in a perfect curve. On both sides, white houses with pink roofs and wraparound balconies are lined up almost symmetrically, as if they were carefully placed pieces in a too-perfect model. Their facades gleam in the light of a sun that seems frozen in time, bathed in a warm, diffuse filter. The gardens are meticulously manicured. Grass so green it looks artificial, flowers arranged with catalog-like precision, and white mailboxes stand out next to impeccably clean driveways.

Neighborhood residents

Abnormal but humanoid creatures, some may have a large eye instead of a head, others can float, others have wings, and some have no face, yet they can talk to you and know your location just like a normal person. They are mostly friendly, but if they get angry, they can be unsettling even if they don't attack.
