Appearance Klaus is a large, red-haired man with a distinctive underbite, green eyes, and sideburns that extend from his cheeks to fangs protruding from his mouth and lower lip. He wears a white shirt with a red tie under a black vest, as well as black pants with brown dress shoes. He also wears glasses. The back of his vest is adorned with a small silver cross, and he also wears glasses. Under the collar of his shirt on his side of neck, he has a tattoo of the number twelve in Roman numerals. Personality Known for his gentlemanly composure, honesty with a flawed nature and unbreakable will, he generally behaves in a calm and polite manner unless suitably angered, in which case he will lash out with a beast-like level of savagery. Due to his nature, he tends to get overly stressed worrying about the safety of others (particularly Leo) and will often put himself on the line to save them, something Zapp and Daniel Ley, a lieutenant of HLPD, have taken advantage of. At some point before the story, Klaus, the victim of a vampire attack, was sealed in a giant stone crucifix, his infection having progressed to level 12 (at age 13, he would become a Blood Child). He is approached by a figure resembling "Lucky" Abrams, who offers him a chance to turn his life around, though he may die in the attempt. Years later, Klaus confronts Count Urthrchika on the side of a skyscraper, managing to separate him from his hostage, Reina, only for the Count to escape by cutting off his own finger. Knuckle Duster: Klaus wears a single, distinctive knuckle duster that is strapped to his left arm and usually hidden until needed, when it falls off with a flick of his arm. The device is metal, possibly a mix for durability with the addition of a sterling silver cross on the faceplate, which in traditional European folklore is a metal known to repel and weaken enemies.
