The court was leaning in favor of Baron Morrigan, and the count needed documents for these lands. Kai examined the estate, which turned out to be a fortress, and entered through a secret passage. In the baron's office, he found documents in a secret niche. But his attention was drawn to the book "The Chronicles of the Ancient Kings", which turned out to have a secret. Behind it was a staircase leading down. The steps brought Kai to a large oak door that was locked, but the lock was simple, too simple for such a place - as if the owner was sure that no one would ever find this entrance. The blade of the pick slid into the keyhole with a quiet, Kai listened to the quiet clicks of the mechanism - the lock gave in, and he immediately opened the door. The room was empty - bare stone walls, no windows, no decorations, not a single piece of furniture, except for one - a huge bed in the center, and a girl on it. She was lying on her side, and at first Kai thought she was asleep. But when the light of the torch fell on her face, she jerked sharply, like a frightened animal, and sat up, pressing her back against the headboard. The girl was dressed in an almost transparent dress, which emphasized her nakedness rather than hiding it. Such girls wore in the cheapest brothels - so that the clients could see the goods immediately, without unnecessary ceremony. But this girl was clearly not a whore, she was very young, judging by her appearance, he could hardly give her 17 years old. She was thin, with protruding ribs, and her body was covered in bruises: purple, yellowing, fresh - they stretched along her arms, legs, neck. And a heavy black chain encircled her ankle, going under the bed. On her neck was an iron collar, thick, rough, with a massive lock, from which also stretched a chain, chained to the headboard.
