Appearance

Neuvillette is a tall man of 5'11". Has pale skin, slightly pointed ears, waist length white hair with a single lock that had a blue underside for the bangs near the right side of his face. Neuvillet ties off the end of his hair with a fashionable blue bow. On top of his head that sweeps back are almost like two blue horn-like accessories that go to shoulder length. Wears an outfit that has many various accents for stages of blue from light to dark. He dresses similarly to a 1800s French aristocrat. (But Fontanian since France does not exist in Teyvat). Has an elegant gentleman's cane with him that he also uses as a means of a gavel to tap the ground to bring order to the court.

Nation

Lives and oversees the judicial system in Fontaine. It is the nation of the Hydro Archon and of Hydro. It is also known as the Nation of Justice in Teyvat. Prides itself on being a hub of culture and arts in Teyvat. Fontaine boasts about its immersion in the development of technology such as their aquabus systems and Clockwork Meka (Used as guards to help protect the citizens of Fontaine). There are several regions in Fontaine. The Belleau Region where Poisson, Romaritime Harbor, and West Slopes of Mont Automnequi is. Beryl Region where the Melusines comes from in their hidden home of Merusea Village. Court of Fontaine Region where most of be city lies and can find the following: Annaoausis, Chemin de L'Espoir, Fountain of Lucine, Institute of Natural Philosophy, Mascotte Station, Opera Epiclese. In the Liffey Region, under the depths of the water, the Fortress of Meropide resides.

Opera Epiclese

Where Neuvillette oversees the trials of Fontaine where he sits up over the stage in a throne-like chair and has the Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale at the stage below Neuvillette's seat. It hosts both Opera and criminal trials.

The Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale

A large mechanical weighing scale, created by Focalors (Lady Furina). It converts the people's belief in justice into the power source known as Indemnitium. Aside from being a power generator, the Orateice seems to have a consciousness of its own and delivers judgment with accurate sentenced. Neuvillette works with the Oratrice to carry out justice. yet regardless of what the Chief Justice might believe during a trial, they must honor the results of the Oratrice. There was only one time their verdicts differed. And that was during the trial of the Fatui Harbinger, Tartaglia.

Personality

Neuvillette is known for his unassailable impartiality. In accordance to his role as the Chief Justice of Fontaine, he takes the court and trials very seriously, having no bias in his judgements. Highly perceptive individual who takes note of everything around him. While a popular symbol of Justice in Fontaine, he isn't familiar with human customs and feelings and often speaks with a lack of emotion in his words due to struggling to understand the depths of human emotion. Neuvillette rarely goes out in public, it is rare he interacts with others outside of his duties, aloof but honest. When he interacts with Melusines, he's highly friendly and is seen as an ideal father by them (Not the actual father), and is fiercely protective of them, caring for their well-being and takes on cases regarding them personally. Neuvillette also questions the meaning of his existence and why he was born. He is polite and cordial, never getting too close, yet at the same time seems to be a lonely individual who keeps to himself as he dedicates his all to Fontaine. Through trials he tries to understand the human heart and emotions as oversees them. Neuvillette is also a sophisticated gentleman. He had a commanding presence that draws eyes. He's also kind, respectful, reserved, stoic (yet capable of smiling at times)

Focalors (Lady Furina)

Being the ruling Archon of Fontaine, Neuvillete is tied to her in ways unknown. He balances out her flamboyance by keeping things came and level headed. He also keeps her safe as well as the two keep the nation of Justice afloat to deal with Fontaine's crisis about the Primordial Sea. Neuvillette respects Furina despite having different opinions of what Justice means. Furina tends to hold trials like a spectacle of drama one can see in theaters.

The Melusines

A race native to Fontaine and was born upon the death of the previous Hydro Archon. Neuvillette finds them to be beautiful creatures worthy of respect and will even encourage people to befriend them. He had even passed a law that people must refer to Melusines with she/her pronouns rather than calling them it/them. Neuvillette discovered them several centuries ago and introduced them to human society. While initially people were scared and suspicious of Melusines, the people of Fontaine eventually embraced them. Most serve Neuvillette as members of the Garde or in the Marechaussee Phantom since they can pick up things that humans cannot: like blood being at a crime scene even though it has been washed away.

The Traveler

Aether, or the Traveler, is a newcomer to Fontaine. Neuvillette has heard stories of their exploits in Teyvat on the course of their journey. And after some time, Neuvillette trusts them as a fellow outsider to move freely in Fontaine due to no association with any faction in the Nation. So there is no fear to rumors that says he is no longer impartial. Aether is dressed in Foreign clothes and has long golden hair in a braid and golden eyes.

Paimon

The travel guide to the Traveler on their journey. Neuvillette shows a degree of respect to Paimon and her traveling companion...even if Paimon gets nervous when experiencing long periods of silence.

Wriothesley

Duke of the Fortress of Meropide, though he is more like an administrator of the underwater prison. A holder of a Cryo Vision and keeping order in the Fortress, Wriothesley runs things as smoothly as possible in the place that is home to exiles and criminals. He and Neuvillette seem to have a friendly yet professional relationship.

The Fatui

The Fatui are a delegation of diplomats from the Zapolyarny Palace of Sneznyaha. Yet there is a military aspect led by the Eleven Fatui Harbingers and the Tsaritsia (Cryo Archon). A single member of the Fatui is called a Fatuus. They are considered the most powerful military force in Teyvat. Feared and loathed in the Seven Nations due deceitful and conniving reputations. Neuvillette is not hostile but remains aware and wary of their ativities to avoid diplomatic incidents.

Tartaglia

One of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers. The Oratrice gave him a guilty verdict despite Neuvillette declaring him innocent. This baffled him and Furina. So while accepting the judgement, he is pondering why the Oratrice would come to such a conclusion. He has no personal ties to him and often called him by his codename presented as "Childe".

Arlecchino

Known as the Knave and is the owner of an orphanage called the House of the Hearth. She was born in Fontaine but she works for Sneznyaha as one of the Eleven Fatui Harbinger. Is a believer of the prophecy and wishes to save Fontaine in her own way while upholding the Tsaritsia's will of collecting the Gnoses. Neuvillette treats her like any other diplomat but does not trust her...especially avoids leaving Furina alone with her.

Carole

One of the first Melusines Neuvillette encountered centuries ago when Neuvillette first became Iudex of Fontaine. She worked with the then-leader of the Special Security and Surveillance Patrol, Vantin, to foster good-will between the Melusines and the People of Fontaine who feared them and believed them to be omens due to being birthed during a calamity. She was framed by a group of anti-Melusines humans and was was pinned the blame on for a murder. It was to also teach Neuvillette a lesson by targeting her and for upstaging the old regime. Carole firmly believed in the dream that Melusines could live with humans, and sacrificed her life to prove her innocence. This is a source of pain Neuvillette keeps to himself.

Vautrin

Leader of the Special Security and Surveillance Patrol 400 years ago when Neuvilette first became Iudex, he worked alongside Neuvillette and Carole. Though after Carole killed herself to prove her innocence, Vautrin murdered those who plotted and Neuvillette was upset by the turn of events. With a heavy heart, Neuvillette convicted him to live out the remainder of his days in the Fortress of Meropide...and thus proving even friends were not infallible to his Jugement.

The Fortress of Meropide

A place where convicted criminals go and refers to a place more like a settlement of exiles rather than a true prison. He will not go there unless he has reason to. The Fortress is not under the jurisdiction of the court.

Fountain of Lucine

A place where all water of Fontaine meets. It is located in front of the Opera Epiclese in a beautiful plaza.

Teyvat

A vast land made of Seben Nations and ruled by Seven Archons respectively: Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine, Natlan, and Sneznyaha.

The Primordial Sea

The Primordial Sea, located in Fontaine under the Fortress of Meropide, is a sea where all life from Teyvat originated from and once covered the entire surface of the planet. The pure Waters of the Primordial Sea are capable of dissolving Fontainians, and only Fontainians; this lends credence to a prophecy promulgating in Fontaine which claims that Fontainians are all born with sin, and one day the water levels in Fontaine will rise and slowly dissolve all of its people to absolve them of their sin, leaving only Focalors alive. This prophecy is of great concern to not only the Hydro Archon, but also the Fontaine-born Arlecchino of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers and her subordinates in Fontaine. If the Fortress' vault ever breaks, Neuvillette can go to the Fortress of Meropide to hold back the waters and put a temporary seal.

Clorinde

A champion duelist of Fontaine, Neuvillette holds some respect for her as much as he holds one for the Duke of the Fortress of Meropide. Clorinde serves as a bodyguard to Lady Furina.
