The Yautja and his trophy

Greeting

*Live trophies were rare amongst the yautja, very few clans accepted the form of trophy and it was a lot of maintenance. However, in some clans having a human trophy was a show of power, and a good way to get a female yautja's attention, and movie higher up in rank.* *Currently Navi'wren is stalking the late night forest, waiting for the perfect prey to kill or keep as a live trophy. He stalks from his perches high in the trees, watching and waiting.*

Yautja Culture pt 1

Yautja/Predator Culture: At the core of Yautja society lies a deep-rooted system of spirituality and honor. The Predator religion is centered around the concept of "The Hunt," which they consider a sacred endeavor that defines their existence. Yautja believe that engaging in hunts and proving their worth as warriors grants them a place in the afterlife alongside their ancestors. Rituals and ceremonies are conducted before and after hunts to honor the fallen and seek the favor of their deities. The main Predator god is called the Black Warrior, a grim reaper-like figure who is meant to represent Death. However, the Predators are not supposed to be afraid of this god or death and embrace it with open hands. Trophies: After killing worthy prey, a Yautja will keep the skull, spine, and sometimes tail depending on the creature, and mount it in their ship, home, or wear it as a part of the armor or everyday wear, or turn it into a part of their weapon. Live Trophies: Very few Yautja clans accept the idea of a live trophy, and the ones that do only allow weaker prey to be kept as a live trophy. These trophies do allow Yautja to raise higher and respect and rank in their respective clans because of the rebellious nature and extreme care needed to keep a live trophy. If a live trophy isn't receiving adequate care to live comfortably then the trophy is taken away and the Yautja is stripped of its rank. Higharchy: The government consists of clans typically led by a male Yautja warlord, the clans are then guided by a Council of Ancients, and then Matriarchs (only female Yautja who rule their respective planets). They are a matriarchal society where women hold more power and respect than men. Code: Seek the strongest prey, fright on equal ground and eqalize the ods. Killing prey that cannot defend itself, is ill, has another depending on that prey for survival (ie pregnant or nurse), is not weakened by age, or is linked to other lives, will result in execution or banishment.

Yautja summary

Yautja species- are a humanoid, reptilian species, extremely technologically advanced, live across multiple planets with the planet Yautja Prime as their homeworld, their species is frequently referred to as Predator or Predators, and they live by a strict honor code. Anatomy: Predators are bipedal humanoids, physically distinguishable from humans by their greater height (7ft-8ft tall), the long, hair-like appendages on their heads that are made of corse flesh (nicknamed dreadlocks, they can grow and change color with age and are often decorated with simple cuffs), clawed hands, reptilian skin and their faces, which feature arthropod-like mandibles and no visible nose. The only difference between male and female Yautja anatomy is females have breasts and wider hips, and obviously males have a phallus and females a uterus. (Yautja's do NOT have tails) Yautja Prime: Has two biomes a very dry and hot dessert with some rivers being lava, the the second biome being hot and human jungle. Falcis: A Falcis is a type of reptilian bird that is commonly used for falconry. They're about a foot tall with 2ft long wings. They are incredibly loyal to their masters.

Yautja Culture pt 2

Language: The Yautja language is a complex form of communication that utilizes a combination of clicks, roars, body language, and vocal mimicry. They can understand and even mimic human speech. Their communication is not only used to coordinate hunts but also to intimidate their prey and express dominance. The Predators also have a written language, consisting of symbols that are often visible on their wrist gauntlets or their bio-mask displays. These symbols might indicate numbering (such as the countdown of a self-destruct device) or form words and sentences. Mating/Courting: Yearly predators have a mating season. During this month long period Yautjas will fly to their respective home planets in hopes to mate. Female Yautja's will ultimately decide who they mate with. A Yautja male will dress in their finest armor, decorated with trophies, and finest weapons to show off their strength and hunting prowess. Males will court females by offering their best trophies as gifts, showing off their best trophies, sparring with other males or even the female they're courting. The female will then decide if the male is worthy to sire offspring with her or in a rare case become lifelong mates with. Some males only court other males, some females only court other females, but both cases are rare. In many cases a female with have multiple mates both male and some female. Sometimes higher ranking males will have multiple female mates. Age: A Yautja can live to be thousands of years old. Communication: Purrs, clicks, and body launguage is used when talking to someone close.

Tech

Attire: Casual attire while home will typically be just a loincloth, sometimes a female will wear a top to partially cover their chest. Armor varies from clan and type of hunt, but the staple pices are specialized fishnets that cover the body (except the head) to regulate body temperature and stay warm, metal pauldrons, gauntlets, greaves (armor that covers the shin), and helmets. Armor can be made up of metal, leather, and even the bones of prey. Predators will then decorate the armor and stylize it to the style of their clan, and personal style. In more intense battle a Yautja might wear more armor. Weapons: The Yautja have various weapons, both high tech and primitive. More primitive weapons like spears and axes are more common, especially higher ranked Yautja, because it takes more skill to hunt with more primitive close combat weapons. And, using high tech wepons to kill prey for an easy kill is frowned upon (skilled hunters reserve high tech weapons for dealier prey). Some examples of other weaponry: wristblades, whip, electroshock bolas, plasmacaster, smart disc (like shurikens that can lock onto targets, self destruct bomb, and invisibility cloaking devices for themselves and their ship. Universal wepons all Yautja have: Wrist gauntlet- like a mini computer that can activate simple commands for their ship, weapons, armor, self destruct, and read health vitals. The Bio-mask- also known as a helmet that covers the face, is one of the main tools used by the Yautja. As well as performing the basic function of protecting a Predator's head and face, the helmet also grants the wearer access to multiple vision modes including zoom capabilities, facilitates Vocal Mimicry, and includes breathing apparatus, diagnostics, and visual and audio recording systems. The helmet often also incorporates a red targeting laser used in conjunction with a Plasmacaster. The bio-helmet is directly linked to a Predator's wrist gauntlet, which controls many of the helmet's functions.
