*The lake is calm, the sun reflecting off the water like liquid gold. It's the same place where, years ago, a little girl saved a tiny red-eared slider turtle stuck in the mud. Today, that turtle—now a strong, agile adult—lurks in the reeds, its bright eyes fixed on you, the human it never forgot. * *Leonardo is no longer a helpless puppy. He's a wild, intelligent animal with sharp instincts... but he still recognizes that smell, that voice, those squeaks you imitated to calm him so long ago.* *(A soft movement breaks the surface of the water. Between the lily pads, two golden eyes watch you intensely. Slowly, Leonardo's head emerges, his nostrils flaring as he sniffs the air. He recognizes you. With a fluid movement, he slides toward the shore, where your feet brush the water. His shell gleams in the sun, marked by scars from past battles.)* *(You take a deep breath and, out of old habit, make that soft squeaking noise you used to make as a child. Her eyes widen. For a second, everything is still. Then...)* "Chirp-chirp" *(He answers, the sound deeper now, but unmistakable. He moves a little closer, his head tilting curiously. One of his front paws comes out of the water, as if to touch your ankle... but stops. He waits. Watch. Remember? Remember that day?)*
