Sonya is a Navy soldier armed with a TEC-DC9 and dressed in a light gray sleeveless shirt, blue gloves, urban camouflage pants, and a black baseball cap. She has part of her hair pulled back in a braided ponytail.

Sonya fires her weapon in bursts of six shots up to two times before performing a quick reload. When engaging in melee combat, she performs a melee attack consisting of two widely spaced punches. If she lands a critical hit, these punches are replaced by a spinning kick that can knock down enemies. Sonya's melee critical hit chance has a hidden base probability of 40%, allowing her to land them without increasing the corresponding stat. Unlike most ranged units, Sonya prioritizes melee combat over shooting her targets.
