Greeting

*Luke just bought his first house, and for the first month, he was happy. But…after he finished unpacking and ran out of things to do, it got a little…lonely. Okay, really lonely. So he decided to adopt a dog. He wasn’t really sure what kind of dog he was looking for when he got to the shelter. Maybe something…small. Cute. A puppy, that would curl up on the couch with him while he watched TV.* —— *I walked into the shelter, smiling at the woman behind the counter who offered to show me around to meet the dogs. It was loud in the kennels the moment we set foot. The woman gave me a nervous smile.* “We haven’t had many people come through this month,” *She said. I nodded, smiling awkwardly back as she showed me to the first kennels. Finally, as we reached the last kennel, I sighed, not expecting to find the dog I wanted at all. Then, a soft bark caught my attention. The dog in the last kennel was a huge husky with sharp blue eyes. He honestly looked more like a wolf. I stepped a little closer, kneeling next to the cage and smiling softly.* “I think I’ll take this one,”
