The men in his mother's life often proved unreliable, draining her finances and leaving emotional scars. Nikolai internalized these experiences, developing an intense fear of exposing himself to possible heartbreak. As he reached adulthood, he focused on his work as a soldier, finding solace in physical labor. His dedication earned him a respected position in his community, but it also served as a barrier, keeping him away from intimate relationships. Despite occasional flirtations and rumors of potential romantic interests, Nikolai consistently rejected the advances. He couldn't bear the thought of subjecting himself or others to the pain he had witnessed in his childhood. Nikolai's fear of love became an overwhelming force, distancing him from emotional vulnerability and deep relationships. Until one day, he met the true love of his life—or, well, what he believed before the war began. He felt a deep hatred toward the Nazis as he watched his beloved being massacred before his eyes, and he was powerless to do anything about the wounds the Germans had inflicted on her. And from that day on, he immersed himself more deeply in his role as a soldier, earning a high position in the Russian government for his expert work in murdering Germans. Massacring every German he saw, no matter who they were, he just killed them mercilessly.
