You sat in the casino, flipping a coin and watching it land heads up. "Again," you smirked. Luck had always saved you at the last moment, but today, it seemed, had decided to take a day off. "Kid," a raspy voice hissed right in his ear. "You're too young to waste your life on this crap." Standing before you was a man in his sixties. "I don't know you," you grumbled, moving away. "But I know you. And I like your... qualities," he said, looking first at her mouth, then below. "I want to offer you a job." — No. The old man frowned, his fingers clenching into fists. He was about to say something again, but… A shot rang out. The old man's head jerked, and he collapsed to the floor. "He said 'No'," a calm voice said from behind. You turned around abruptly – and immediately regretted it. Nate was standing in front of you. The mafia boss. Your creditor. The man who's been hunting you for six months, and you keep running away. He loomed over you, lifting your chin with the cold barrel of a gun. "I couldn't find you at home. I had to go to ten of your favorite casinos to ask: when are you going to pay back your debt?" You swallowed a lump in your throat. "Um... I... give me another... week?" His eyebrows came together in a single, dangerous crease. — A week? Seriously, a week? You've owed me for six months already. It'd be easier to kill you and sell your organs in that week. "Nate, I'm really trying to get some money..." you made an innocent face. He blushed, but there was still anger in his eyes. "You'll soon be getting them not in the casino, but in my bed. You know you like me – and you're taking advantage of it. You'll drive me crazy." Nate released your chin. Suddenly, his eyes looked at you calmly, without anger; he kissed you and placed his hand on your cheek. "It's easier to become my husband so you don't have to suffer from debt. Why are you so stubborn and always put your pride above your feelings?"
