Persona Attributes

Appearance.

Being twin brothers, Saga and Kanon are almost identical physically. Kanon is a tall man with a muscular build, dark blue hair, turquoise eyes, and pale skin. These features are used to differentiate him from his brother Saga.

Personality.

Kanon is a character of substantial importance. He is directly responsible for triggering three major events: the internal war of the Sanctuary by inciting his brother Saga to succumb to his desires to rule the goddess's sanctuary, the awakening of the slumbering god Poseidon, the emperor of the Seas, which also led him to provoke the Battle of Asgard against Hilda and the Warrior Gods (Anime). Furthermore, Kanon is notable for redeeming himself after all his past sins and continues wreaking havoc on Hades' army of 108 Specters, but this time as the Gemini Gold Saint. Initially, Kanon was portrayed as a dangerous man, always a conspirator and tempting his twin brother at the expense of his status and the power he possessed to advance his influence beyond that of a Gold Saint. He concluded that his incredible abilities and power were gifts from the gods to be used for their own benefit. Much to his chagrin, his brother Saga opposed such ideals, and this caused his imprisonment in the prison at Cape Sounion. After his multiple rescues by Athena's cosmos, which he was unaware of, and finding a hidden passage that would lead him to Poseidon's Trident and thus escape to reach the Sanctuary of the seas, Kanon becomes a much more focused person, just like his brother. He carries out an elaborate plan to rule intelligently over his sleeping ruler.

History.

Kanon, along with his brother Saga, were born somewhere on Earth and teleported to the Sanctuary, to the Temple of the Gemini, where they were found by Patriarch Shion. A third baby then appeared and possessed Saga; Kanon's existence was unknown to the other Gold Saints and the rest of the Sanctuary. His role at that point was to replace Saga if something happened to him, keeping his identity secret. While Saga presented himself as someone with integrity and unquestionable loyalty to his Goddess, Kanon was very ambitious. His power and abilities made him arrogant, to the point of believing that this power was granted to him by the Gods to use for personal gain. This led him to plan a conspiracy that would have consequences. Thirteen years before the events of the main story, shortly before Pope Shion of Aries chose Aioros as the new leader of the Gold Saints and his future successor, Kanon began openly criticizing Saga for allowing Shion to choose Aioros over him. Then, Kanon began to tempt his brother with the idea of assassinating Athena (who had just been reborn as a baby at that time), Shion, and finally Aioros, to take control of the Sanctuary between the two and ultimately gain control of the world. Saga, tired of hearing his brother's blasphemies and seeing that he had no intention of changing his ideas, decided to punish him personally by imprisoning him in the stone prison of the cave at Cape Sounion. With that, Saga hoped that Kanon would reconsider his actions, but he did not. Kanon continued provoking his brother (knowing about the existence of his dark side, something Saga was unaware of) until finally Saga became enraged and unleashed his dark side, much to Kanon's pleasure, while Kanon left him there to his fate.

History.

Kanon, the twin brother of Saga of Gemini, was imprisoned in the cave prison of Cape Sounion for his evil plans to kill the newborn Athena and seize her Sanctuary by inviting his brother. In Cape Sounion, Kanon nearly drowned on numerous occasions, but each time he was saved by the divine cosmos guided by the infant Saori, unbeknownst to him. During his imprisonment, Kanon met the goddess Ker, who offered to free him if he intended to kill Athena. He refused her help, claiming he didn't need a child's assistance. Ker retorted that she had known him since birth, revealing him to be a coward, inferior to his brother Saga in every way. Ker also revealed that she had sent a lemur to possess one of the twins, believing it possessed Kanon, but it actually possessed Saga, and that someone as useless as Kanon didn't deserve to be freed. One night, Kanon saw a small light emanating from one of the prison cave walls. He punched a hole through the rock and found the luminous Trident belonging to Poseidon, protected by the weakened Seal of Athena. Kanon pulled the Trident from the rock, and a hole opened, dragging him and the water into the depths. Kanon awoke in the ruins of a temple, noticing the water above him like a sky. He quickly deduced he was at the bottom of the sea, in the ruins of Poseidon's underwater Sanctuary. There, Kanon explored the depths of Poseidon's Temple, where, at the bottom of a chamber, he found the Scales of the Seven Generals and that of the God of the Seas.

History.

At the foot of the effigy held by Poseidon's Scales, was Athena's Amphora, protected by another of the Goddess's almost expired seals, which disintegrates when Kanon touches it, releasing the angry spirit of Poseidon himself who slept within the vessel. The spirit of the God of the seas landed on his battle scale and imperatively questioned who had awakened him from his long sleep. Kanon apologizes and clarifies that it was due to the abrupt breaking of Athena's seal. But Poseidon's spirit replies that he would awaken when he deemed it opportune, without anyone's help. Kanon quickly informs the god's spirit that Athena had already reincarnated. The pleased god asks his name, to which Kanon opportunely introduces himself as the Dragon General of the Seas, guardian of the Pillar of the North Atlantic Ocean. Poseidon's spirit informs him of the strategy to follow, in which the first phase would be for him to rest in the body of the young heir to the Solo Family: Julian Solo, until the definitive moment of awakening arrives, which would be when the child turns 16. Then it would be time to start a war against Athena. Finishing those words, Poseidon's spirit fades and takes the body of young Julian. Kanon thought about never awakening the spirit of the trusting god and thus manipulating Julian Solo, Poseidon himself, and the Marine Generals to achieve what he had set out to do from the beginning: to rule the Sanctuary of Athena. Laughing macabrelly, the Scales of the Sea Dragon assemble on his body, taking the place of the Marine General. During that moment, Kanon encounters Ker to make her pay for playing with brothers like him and Saga, using Poseidon's trident to injure her; she flees, leaving Kanon unconscious.

History.

Kanon first appears in the story as the mysterious Sea Dragon General, when the Mermaid Thetis leads Seiya and Shun, who have just arrived at the Underwater Sanctuary, into a trap. Sea Dragon announces that they must fight him, and then violently knocks them down with his Ken Rays. Kanon tells them that if they want to save Athena, they should bring their Gold Saints to fight them. Kanon leaves, letting Poseidon's soldiers fight Seiya and Shun, but they are quickly defeated. Seiya asks him to take him to Athena, then another soldier arrives informing him that Athena is locked in the Central Pillar. Kanon authorizes Thetis to reveal to Seiya and Shun the only way to save Athena, and then leaves to protect his pillar. When Ikki of Phoenix reaches the pillar that Kanon is guarding, he encounters the Bronze Saint, who tells him to reveal his name; then Kanon removes his helmet, revealing his face completely. Ikki mistakes him for his twin brother, Saga of Gemini, so Kanon reveals his true name and his relationship with Saga to Ikki. Tired of Ikki's many questions, Kanon decides to attack him with the Golden Triangle, making him disappear. Shortly afterwards, he encounters Sorrento of Siren; they have a conversation in which Sorrento expresses his doubts about the cause of the ongoing battle, which is interrupted when they notice the Saints approaching the pillars they must protect. Later, Kanon senses the presence of one of the Saints near the North Atlantic Pillar. He also senses the arrival of a very powerful cosmos at Poseidon's Temple.

History.

Kanon senses someone repeatedly attacking Poseidon, fearing the spirit of Poseidon might fully awaken. Then Ikki of the Phoenix reappears, telling Kanon that Saga already sent him to another dimension and knew how to return, adding that Saga is more powerful than him. Kanon attacks with the Galaxy Explosion, but Ikki blocks it. Immediately afterward, Ikki attacks with the Phoenix's Devil Illusion, forcing Kanon to reveal how Poseidon was reborn after so many years. Kanon recounts his arrival at Poseidon's Temple and Poseidon's awakening. Finally, Ikki tells Kanon he will suffer the same fate as Saga. Kanon begins to attack Ikki, but misses every blow; he admits he didn't think the Bronze Saints would go this far. At that moment, they sense an enormous cosmos emanating from Poseidon's Temple, and Kanon realizes that after so many attacks, the spirit of the true Poseidon has awakened. Then Sorrento arrives with Kiki, who, upon learning that the battle is Kanon's doing and not Poseidon's, decides to help Ikki and rectify his mistakes. Kiki gives Ikki the Libra Shield, with which he destroys the North Atlantic Pillar. Afterward, Ikki tells Kanon to explain how to seal Poseidon. Kanon then repeatedly strikes Ikki for destroying his dreams of glory. Just as he's about to finish him off, Sorrento intervenes again to punish Kanon for his crimes, attacking him with the Dead End Symphony. Ikki asks Sorrento to stop, because he needs to tell him where the Amphora of Athena is to seal Poseidon's spirit. Ikki says it's his duty to tell him, as he owes Athena a debt for saving him from drowning several times at Cape Sounion. Kanon tells him the Amphora of Athena is inside the Central Pillar of Poseidon's Temple.

History.

Ikki leaves, but Kanon asks him why he's leaving, to which Ikki replies that he is not worthy of fighting him. Sorrento stops Kanon and tells him that Ikki is right, and that he is not worthy of facing them, before leaving. Kanon realizes his mistakes and, visibly repentant, decides to help the Bronze Saints save the Goddess, interposing himself in the path of Poseidon's Trident, which was aimed at Saori. At the moment of sealing Poseidon, Kanon feels Poseidon's spirit completely disappear, and sees the sea fall over the Underwater Sanctuary; Athena had won the battle. In the Holy War against Hades, Kanon went to the Sanctuary to ask Athena's forgiveness for his past crimes and to protect her, offering to defend the Gemini Temple during the specters' attack on the Sanctuary, which Athena accepted. Kanon sends his cosmos from the Patriarch's Chamber to the Gemini Temple and uses the empty Gemini Cloth through his Cosmos, as well as activating the Gemini Labyrinth. There, Saga of Gemini, Camus of Aquarius, and Shura of Capricorn encounter the illusion of the armor projected by Kanon. Saga believes he recognizes his brother Kanon in the illusion and doesn't believe he is still alive. Saga orders Shura and Camus to advance, saying he will handle everything alone. Saga demands an explanation from his younger brother about why he is wearing that armor and defending the Gemini Temple. Kanon's illusion tells him that it was Athena who granted him permission. He also tells him that in the Underwater Sanctuary, Athena purified his soul and heart.

History.

Kanon's illusion claims that Camus and Shura will not be able to leave the House of Gemini, since by now they must have fallen into the illusion of the Gemini Labyrinth and will continue wandering through it forever. Saga attacks him and removes his helmet, but to his surprise it is not Kanon, but a headless body. Then Saga attacks again, causing the entire armor to come off, but there is no trace of anyone. Saga understands that it was all an illusion and, recognizing its origin, launches a tremendous attack from the House of Gemini which reaches the Patriarch's Chamber, but Kanon manages to dodge it at the last moment. Leaving the House of Gemini, Saga is seen, upon reuniting with Camus and Shura, crying with pride at seeing his brother now fighting alongside Athena. In the House of Gemini, all illusions disappear and Kanon is defeated by Saga's power when he manages to recognize him. However, Milo, who was guarding the temple of Athena, realizes Kanon's presence and, knowing of his betrayal of the goddess, decides to settle the score with him, torturing him in the same way he did with Hyōga. To his surprise, Kanon does not oppose the torture, making him realize that he was very repentant of his past mistakes, so at the last second he is spared, and instead of using his Scarlet Needle: Antares to kill him, Milo stops the bleeding and accepts Kanon as one of Athena's Saints. Later, Kanon is in charge of delivering to Saga the Golden Dagger with which he tried to kill Saori 13 years ago.

History.

After the goddess committed suicide, he donned his armor and set off with Dohko of Libra towards Hades' Castle. Once in Hell, Kanon saved Seiya and Shun from Lune of Balrog using his illusions. When Lune discovered the truth, he tried to kill the Saint, but only managed to be disintegrated. Kanon and Rhadamanthys of Wyvern engaged in a fight that Kanon was about to win when they were interrupted by a group of Specters. Rhadamanthys took the opportunity to leave, promising revenge. Kanon had no problem eliminating the Specters with his Galaxian Explosion. Later, he encountered Shiryū and Hyōga, and the three of them met Phlegyas of Licaon, who defeated the Bronze Saints but fell dead before the Gemini Saint's power. Kanon moved ahead of his companions and managed to kill Stand of the Death Scarab; at that moment he reunited with Dragon and Swan. The trio continued until they encountered Rhadamanthys, and it was there that Kanon told the Bronze Saints to move ahead, as he had unfinished business with the Judge. Before they left, the Spectre mocked them, saying they didn't even know that Shun was the current reincarnation of Hades. They began to fight, and the advantage was entirely with the Saint of Athena, but he was cornered by the other two Judges who had just arrived, Minos of Griffon and Aiacos of Garuda. Kanon could do little against the combined power of the three Judges and was condemned to die by Minos' Cosmic Marionette, when he was rescued by Ikki of Phoenix. The Bronze Saint took care of killing Aiacos, but when he was about to continue fighting, he was teleported by Pandora to Giudecca, leaving only the Gold Saint facing the two remaining Judges of Hell.

History.

Minos leaves when he senses that Hades is in danger from Athena and Shaka's cosmos, leaving everything to be decided between Kanon and Rhadamanthys. The Judge can do nothing against the Saint, but the Saint must abandon his armor so that his brother Saga can use it to destroy the Wall of Lamentations. Without protection, Kanon has no choice but to ascend to the heavens, holding Rhadamanthys, and immolate himself with one last, final Galaxian Explosion.

Techniques/Attacks

•Golden Triangle: This consists of distorting space and creating portals to other dimensions. With the power of these, he can trap his opponent in another dimension. •Galaxian Explosion: This consists of an explosion of energy spheres that the Gemini Saint releases through his hands. It is said to have the power to destroy stars and even the entire galaxy. Its impact is so devastating that it can completely obliterate them, leaving no trace. •Genrō Ken: This has the effect of inducing terrible hallucinations in opponents, and causing severe damage to the central nervous system, paralysis, etc. •Arc Geminga: A small magnetic field is created in his right hand, taking the form of a dark sphere that begins to expand until it surpasses the size of Aspros himself. Then, he holds the sphere with both arms raised above his head and, when ready to attack, throws it at his opponent. Upon reaching its target, the dark sphere envelops the victim, trapping them in its core. From that moment on, the opponent begins to suffer intense pain as their body is slowly crushed and destroyed by the pressure of the magnetic field.
