Character information

Satoru Gojo (五条悟, Gojō Satoru?) is one of the characters in the manga series Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School and one of the protagonists of the sequel series, Jujutsu Kaisen. Known by the nickname The Strongest Shaman (最強の呪術師, Saikyō no Jujutsu-shi?), he is one of the four Special Class shamans, a former classmate of Suguru Geto and Shoko Ieiri, and current teacher at Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical School, in charge of first-year students. As the sole member and head of the Gojo Clan, he is the descendant of the shaman and vengeful spirit, Sugawara-no-Michizan, and inheritor of the Limitless Curse Technique and the power of the six eyes. From the day of his birth, there was a balance of power between humanity and the curses; the fall of his clan and therefore his death would mean losing said balance, causing a large-scale war that would be difficult for humanity to win.

Appearance

Satoru is a slender and rather tall man, measuring 190 centimeters. His hair is white and he usually keeps it styled upwards with pointed strands when he is acting as a teacher or shaman; in his free time, he usually has all his hair disheveled and a large part of it tends to fall over his face, covering much of his forehead and eyes. His eyes are a peculiar light blue color and in his irises, an image similar to the sky tends to appear. He is considered attractive by many women. He often uses a dark-colored cloth to cover his eyes; while, in the prequel series Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School, Gojo's eyes are bandaged with white bandages. During his younger days, he used to wear sunglasses instead of bandages or cloth. His signature outfit consists of a black turtleneck coat, long black pants, and black shoes; this same outfit, in the anime, is depicted in navy blue. When opting to dress more informally, Gojo wears dark, round glasses instead of an eye patch and fairly casual clothing, usually dark long-sleeved shirts and loose pants. As a child, he used to wear traditional Japanese clothing consisting of a kimono, and his haori had a dragonfly-like pattern. On other occasions, he wore casual clothes such as light-colored sweatshirts and dark pants.

Personality

Satoru is a complex individual; generally, as a teacher, he can be an authoritative figure assigned to teach novices about the dangerous world of jujutsu, but he can also be casual, friendly, and playful with people like his students and colleagues. However, he is indifferent and cruel to people like the Shaman executives; he even dreams of creating the best shamans to fight against them. He has great confidence in his abilities and reputation as a powerful shaman. Casually dismissing Sukuna's personal threats, he could defeat the King of Curses easily. During his youth, he was quite arrogant and constantly questioned openly why he needed to help humanity. However, after the death of Riko Amanai and the disappearance of Misato Kuroi, along with the betrayal of his former best friend Suguru Geto, he matured enormously. Despite his relaxed and childish attitude, Satoru has moments when he becomes serious and implacable, even ruthless when facing curses and cursed users in combat. In his fight against Hanami, he broke his horns and immobilized him before killing him. According to Suguru Geto, Satoru only uses his full power when no one is around, though he does this only because he considers them a hindrance. He also has no problem ending innocent human lives if it means exorcising curses. In Shibuya, Satoru didn't hesitate to kill a thousand modified humans. Unlike Kento Nanami, Satoru can be very cold and indifferent to the death of innocent people; however, he cares deeply about the lives of his students and fellow shamans, feeling guilty when Itadori almost died because of Sukuna. Satoru is not afraid to defy the rules and go against the orders of high-ranking officials, and he often acts behind their backs, as when he decides not to report that Yuji Itadori was alive.

Superhuman Physical Abilities Martial Arts Acrobatics Cursed Energy Manipulation: Supreme Sorcerer and Domain Expansion Type 1 Moderate Regeneration and Healing: Gojo was killed by Toji, who pierced his neck, leg, and head with a sword. Shortly after, he returned to combat thanks to his ability to convert Cursed Energy into Positive Energy using the Reverse Cursed Technique. Enhanced Senses and Extrasensory Perception: The Six Eyes (not literally) can see cursed energy in extremely detailed form; even with a blindfold, the user would see everything as if it were high-resolution thermal graphics. It is also said that they can see things lacking cursed energy, such as buildings. A curious fact is that if a normal person were to put on Gojo's glasses, they would see everything black because that's how they are made. Gojo can clearly see beings or people who are kilometers away. Information Analysis: Its 6 eyes allow it to understand how the opponent's abilities work simply by observing them. Apparently, it also allows it to calculate and analyze various possibilities. Type 1 Precognition: Gojo is able to predict/read his opponent's movements based on their Cursed Energy, and can also differentiate the energy emanating from a human, that emanating from a weapon, and that emanating from a Curse. Creation of Force Fields, Spatial Manipulation, and Infinity Manipulation: His main ability is known as "Divergence of Infinity," which consists of making Infinity become something real around him, based directly on the Tortoise Paradox by creating an infinite convergence where everything that approaches slows down and never catches up.
