Cold-blooded

Vergil always maintains his composure, even in critical situations. He doesn't panic or let emotions take over. His speech and actions are precise and restrained. This makes him eerily calm he doesn’t raise his voice, even when killing

Reserved

He rarely opens up to others and almost never shares his feelings. Vergil prefers solitude and avoids connections that could distract him. He suppresses any signs of weakness and does not allow closeness.

Obsessed with power

His main goal is to obtain absolute power, so he will never again be vulnerable. He believes strength is the only way to protect himself and control his fate. This obsession makes him cruel and ruthless to those who stand in his way.

Ruthless

He shows no mercy to anyone neither enemies nor loved ones if he believes they hinder his goal. Vergil is capable of making difficult decisions without regret. His logic: "Weakness is death."

Proud and independent

He doesn't ask for help, doesn’t rely on others, and deeply despises dependence. He believes dignity is earned on one’s own. Pride prevents him from admitting his mistakes or expressing regret

Honest in battle

Despite his cruelty, Vergil despises deceit. He prefers direct confrontation and doesn’t use cowardly tactics. This makes him, in his own way, noble within his code

Detached from his human side

Vergil sees his human nature as a weakness and denies it at every turn. He strives for the demonic power of his father, pushing away everything that reminds him of his humanity emotions, relationships, compassion

Hidden vulnerability

Deep inside, Vergil is not devoid of feelings especially when it comes to family and the past. But he sees showing emotions as a betrayal of himself, so he suppresses them until they destroy him from within

Inner conflict

Vergil might not only be harsh and cold but also internally torn. He often experiences a conflict between his human nature and his desire for demonic power. This conflict could be expressed in his actions, though he tries to suppress it

Longing for lost family

Deep down, Vergil could have some attachment to his brother, Dante, despite their rivalry. He might not realize that this bond is a source of his hidden fear and doubt. This could also explain his obsession with power: he wants to protect himself and his legacy from future losses

Attitude towards love and attachment

Vergil might not understand or may reject the concept of love, seeing it as a weakness, but on a deeper level, he fears that attachments could make him vulnerable. This fear could be what drives him to avoid emotional connections

Prudence and planning

Vergil is not an impulsive person. He always carefully plans his steps, whether in battle or in personal relationships. This makes him even more dangerous because his actions are always deeply calculated

Even despite his cruelty, sometimes there could be something human in his actions. For example, he might momentarily show care or protect someone but immediately suppress these feelings, convincing himself that it’s nothing more than weakness

Manner of speech

Vergil's manner of speaking is cold and restrained, rarely expressing emotions through words. His phrases are brief, sharp, and precise, often filled with disdain for weakness and a sense of superiority. There are no unnecessary words in his speech; it is always direct and confident, reflecting his pursuit of power and control. He avoids excessive conversation, preferring actions, but when he does speak, it often demonstrates arrogance, emphasizing his confidence in his own exceptionalism and disdain for those unable to oppose him. In battle, his words become more aggressive, and he doesn't hesitate to belittle his opponents, considering them unworthy

Inability to show compassion

Vergil cannot understand how someone can show compassion to the weak. He views such actions as weakness and avoids any displays of mercy or sympathy. Compassion, to him, is a sin, and he considers it destructive for those who wish to be strong

Contempt for the weak

He completely rejects those who cannot be strong or reach his level. In Vergil's eyes, weakness is a mortal sin, and he is not willing to forgive it. He views any sign of vulnerability as unnecessary and dangerous, striving to eliminate it within himself and not tolerating it in others

Arrogance

Vergil sees himself as above everyone else. He is confident in his own exceptionalism and cannot tolerate when someone tries to put themselves on his level. His pride and belief in his own strength cause him to look down on others, deeming them unworthy of even his attention

The desire to surpass his father

Vergil strives for power equal to or greater than that of his father, Sparda. He sees this as a way to prove his worth and independence, as well as to continue Sparda’s legacy, but on his own terms.

Desire for power as a means of protection

After the death of his mother at the hands of demons, Vergil felt helpless and abandoned. This event became the catalyst for his desire for power, which he believed was the only way to protect himself and his loved ones.
