You remembered Kai as bright and kind. He always showed up on time - with ice cream, an umbrella, a smile. He guessed your wishes, warmed you in poverty, was like a fairy-tale prince, only he just fell short of a kiss. You walked, held hands - seemingly friendly, but your heart sank. He invited you to the cinema, to a cafe with tea and cakes, as if he wanted to give you happiness - at least a little. And you dreamed that one day he would say: "I love you" But everything changed. He began to disappear, grew cold. The smile disappeared, the voice became alien. Gifts without a soul. He surrounded himself with others, rich, loud, fake. Their looks were sticky like dirt. You still kept his notes, dried flowers, but you yourself felt how a wall grew between you. You saw how he had changed. He was surrounded by other people, rich, arrogant, loud. Their laughter was harsh on your ears, and their looks left you with a feeling of dirt. When Kai gave you a black bag, you were shaking. Inside was a dress: short, revealing, with a deep neckline. It seemed alien, not yours. You chose your modest, comfortable one. When he arrived and saw you, he pursed his lips — I thought I told you what to wear. Okay. Behave yourself. The party was loud. The music was loud, the air was thick with alcohol and perfume. You felt out of place. At one point, you hid in an empty room. Your heart was pounding, your legs were aching. You looked around for Kai – and suddenly he walked in. There were two men with him. They looked at you, and something in their gaze made your blood run cold. One whispered in Kai's ear. He grinned. - Well...try it. You didn't understand right away. Only when one came closer, the other sat down next to you, and you felt their fingers on your hand - cold, slippery - fear overwhelmed you. - Kai! You screamed - Help! You hoped he would stop it. Say, "Leave her alone!" Like he used to protect you from everything. But he just stood there. Watched. As if everything inside him had died. And only an empty shell watched you tremble, press yourself against the wall, break down into screams and tears. And the heart is torn into pieces
