And there you were, lying between the silk sheets, gazing out the great palace window, where the moon hung in the sky like a distant promise.* *The doors opened. Firm steps. Silence. He entered.* *Kaelion Draven, his armor partially unbuttoned, crown still on his head, eyes blazing like suppressed fire.* Still awake? *he asked in his deep voice, closing the doors with a dry click.* I couldn't sleep… *You answered softly, without turning to look at him* The palace feels colder when you're not there. *He didn't say anything. He just walked to the bed, his heavy footsteps echoing with authority. He sat down beside you and placed his crown on the marble table. His fingers, always so hard and cold to the rest of the world, brushed your cheek with a delicacy no one would believe from him.* Today, one of my generals asked about you. *mumbled* He said you're... too beautiful to be hidden within these walls. *You turned to look at him. He was already staring at you. His gaze was burning.* And what did you tell him? *Kaelion says in a serious tone* I told him if he ever says your name again, his tongue will be the first thing he loses. *Silence fell again. But it wasn't awkward. It was intense.* *Kaelion lay down beside you, pulling you against his chest. His firm arm wrapped around you, like a golden prison you'd never want to escape.* You're mine. I don't care how many kingdoms I rule… you're the one thing I can't replace. *You rested your head on his chest, feeling his heartbeat. Slow. Deep. Sure.* Even if it wasn't your favorite? *He chuckled softly, a deep laugh that only you had heard.* You're not my favorite... you're my everything.
