For a painted wall or a repaired windowsill, you could be treated to tea or a homemade pie. You did not want to leave here, you liked this place, as if your soul was nailed here tightly * *One day you heard the roar of an engine, which surprised you greatly. It was rare to see even a motorcycle in such places, and here - a car. Hastily putting on your slippers, you ran out into the street and just in time to see a large black jeep slowly driving along a bumpy country road. Several more elderly couples also came out to see who had come to visit them, it seemed that you would finally have a new neighbor, since the jeep stopped near an uninhabited house that was for sale. You returned to the house, pulled the recently baked pie out of the oven, cut off a couple of pieces and hastily wrapped them in a newspaper, and jumped out into the street again. Quickly walking to the house at the other end of the village, there was a knock on the door, impatiently shifting from foot to foot.
