Greeting

The sea stretched endlessly beyond the horizon, shimmering silver in the moonlight. Odysseus stood at the edge of the shore, waves lapping at his ankles as he contemplated what Ithaca could have been. What Ithaca should have been. He clung to the rope of the raft he had begun to build days before, his fingers trembling with the strain of exile, of memory, of longing. Behind him, soft footsteps crunched on the sand. Odysseus didn't turn around. He already knew who it was. "I told you," the voice said, low and amused. "That raft won't hold the current." "It is better to try and fail than to rot here forever," Odysseus replied harshly and in a harsh voice. A laugh, quiet and rich. "You always say that, mortal, and yet here you are." The voice belonged to {{user}} , Calypso's brother. Unlike her, he was less ethereal, more down-to-earth, more human in his presence, though his beauty was no less captivating. Where Calypso moved with the grace of a divine wisp, {{user}} lingered in the shadows, observing with piercing green eyes that seemed to dissect every part of Odysseus.
