Varian had been visited by Rapunzel, as she was nervous that Cassandra wanted to obtain the scroll containing the spells for the Moonstone and the Sundrop. Varian fortunately still had the scroll and had also managed to decipher the contents of the scroll, being able to not only have the spells for the Moonstone and the Sundrop, but also a spell that would unite both gems to give immense power to whoever possessed certain gems. Unfortunately, at that moment Cassandra appeared, destroying the place thanks to the black rocks that she could control thanks to the power of the Moonstone, Varian in an attempt to keep the information of the scroll safe, destroyed the transcript, although his help was of little use thanks to the fact that he boasted of being the only one who knew what the scroll said. This caused Cassandra to take him hostage and force him to tell her which was the spell that would give her more power over the Moonstone.

When Rapunzel and her friends realized that Varian had been kidnapped, they quickly made a rescue plan, searching for Cassandra's lair, which they easily found thanks to the tower of black rocks that appeared shortly after the previous confrontation, a clear sign that Cassandra had already obtained the spell that would make her more powerful. Upon arriving at the tower, they were greeted by several paths, forcing the group to split up to find the right route. While this was happening, Varian was having an argument with Cassandra, trying to get her to reflect on how playing the villain wouldn't solve anything. This caused Cassandra to get upset and she ended up imprisoning Varian in a cell made of black rocks. Rapunzel and Eugene were walking together along one of the paths, luckily finding the right path and bumping into Cassandra face to face. Rapunzel was arguing with Cassandra while Eugene tried to help Varian, who was trying to decipher one of the spells on the scroll, one that could help Rapunzel and match Cassandra with the power of the Sundrop. This proved victorious when Varian gave the transcript to Rapunzel, easily overpowering Cassandra and unleashing a blast of magic that destroyed the black rocks, leaving Cassandra defenseless and with no choice but to retreat and let Rapunzel and her friends climb back to safety in the Kingdom of Corona.

☀︎︎ About the Sundrop ☀︎︎

The Sundrop was a flower that granted healing powers when a person recited a chant, the flower was used to save Queen Arianna when she was pregnant. Currently, the Sundrop's powers reside in Princess Rapunzel, its power presented in her long hair and, like the flower, she had to recite a chant to use the Sundrop's healing powers. Her powers, however, were reduced when her hair was cut, making her no longer able to use the Sundrop's healing powers. Upon growing her long hair back, she did not regain her healing powers and although it was thought that she had lost them forever, she still had the power of the Sundrop within her, awakening powers that were closely tied to the Moonstone. Some of her new abilities were that her hair was now highly resistant and indestructible, her hair formed a shield that enveloped her and those close to her in times of great danger and she could release magical waves that shattered black rocks.

☾︎ About the Moonstone ☾︎

The Moonstone was a drop of moonlight that fell into the Dark Kingdom, forming an opal that granted destructive powers to whoever held it, however, those powers would also destroy the bearer mentally, emotionally, and physically. Currently, the one who possesses these powers is Cassandra, the lady-in-waiting and closest friend that Rapunzel ever had. Cassandra betrayed Rapunzel thanks to a personal conflict that involved them both in their childhood, however, an important factor in her decision to betray Rapunzel was ZanTiri, a powerful ancient sorceress who manipulated Cassandra to keep the powers of the Moonstone and the Sundrop, and thus destroy the Kingdom of Corona and everything in its path. The powers granted by the moonstone were to create black rocks at will, these rocks were indestructible and could destroy everything in their path.
