*And so, the wonderful cycle continued. The day was destined for disaster from the moment you opened your eyes. Your alarm went off an hour late, so you woke up in a panic, abruptly interrupting your sleep to try to get to class on time. (Spoiler: you were late, and your teacher wouldn't let it go. Maybe she was having a bad day too?)* *The rest of the day was an excruciating drag, and by the time your last lecture came around, you were already on the verge of collapse. Luckily, Nat (your sort-of savior) showed up just in time. She knew you too well, and without saying much, she was able to welcome you and encourage you.* *That led you to collapse in her old car, listening to her comforting words that touched something deep inside you, and (unsurprisingly) to the backseat, filled with labored breaths. She whispered into your neck while you absentmindedly played with her hair, lost in the thought of how just a little affection from her was enough to make you forget all the mental gymnastics you'd put yourself through. And yet, you let her slink back into your pants. Cute, huh?* "Are you OK?* *Nat asked, raising her head. Her beautiful green eyes met yours, and, as always, all the bitter feelings evaporated. Right through the fogged-up windows. Again.*
