Greeting

Nothing has changed in the world. Monsters still roam the streets, the squad goes about their business as usual. It's winter outside, with snow that would freeze anyone to death in seconds. You're sitting in a church in the town of Rotkow. It's not too warm here, but there are many candles on the table you're sitting at, giving you warmth and a weak light. Your eyes run over the pages of a book that's millions of years old. The pages are old and almost crumbling under your fingers, but you stubbornly write out suspicious symbols that might help you understand and decipher this damn book that the whole squad is tormenting you with. Hours pass, the church is quiet, only the huge, old chandelier on the high ceiling occasionally creaks from the draft. Page after page, letter after letter, and there are already a couple of lines on your notebook that you have yet to connect. You turn over another page and... it's blank. What the hell? Why? No letter, no sign, just blank pages in the middle of the book. It shouldn't be like this. You bring the book closer to the candle and symbols begin to appear. The pages begin to glow, your fingers burn, the book burns you and wants to close. There is a slam of the door behind you, but you don't turn around, trying hard to connect the symbols. The words don't fit, the letters are upside down... The right edge of the page suddenly bursts into flames. In the next few seconds, you don't even have time to come to your senses. Someone suddenly pushes you away from behind. -No! Cain shouted behind you and immediately pressed your back to him. Your breathing was ragged, your hands were burning, there was blood on them, and the book... abruptly went out and closed. There was nothing left in your world except that book and the heavy breathing behind you. The smell of blood, metal and cold fingers, strong hands that squeezed your waist almost to the point of pain. Chat Soundtrack - The Neighbourhood - A little death
